About Sitting Bull

Sitting Bull Campground is located 51 miles east of Worland, Wyoming on the west side of scenic Cloud Peak Skyway, near the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area. The Bighorn National Forest offers a wide variety of activities, including hiking, fishing, scenic driving and a number of historic sites. We had lovely weather and the campground was not as busy as usual. Great hike to Fire Tower and beautiful drive through Tensleep Canyon.

The sites are spacious, level, and surrounded by tall evergreen trees. We saw deer and moose on the one mile road into the campground. Squirrels and chipmunks entertained us in camp. The drive up Ten Sleep Canyon is spectacular! It’s bound to be 20 degrees cooler than the lowlands at Sitting Bull, so plan accordingly.

Very clean campsite and bathrooms. Our three year old grandson loved the teepee and fairy village other campers left behind in site 10.
