Slough Creek Campground

We stayed at site 3 for two nights and had a great time. A few things to consider. First there are a lot of prairie dog beggars who might raid your garbage if given the opportunity. Second, there is not much in the way of shade and bringing a canopy to put over the picnic table would be a good idea. Third, the wind can act up, so stake down that canopy! Finally, the bison cross the creek here and walk by the site, singly and in groups, rather close. If that's a plus, enjoy and keep your distance as best you can. If you think it's too dangerous, skip this location!

Sites 12 and 13 are too close together.

Spacious campsite. Parking shared with #13. Restroom (& odor) onsite. Nice access to Slough Creek. Shade and views.

Super nice location, off the beaten track and by a river (no mosquito) Met very nice people there and an great host!

The Camp host was very nice and informative on the night I arrived. That night a herd of buffalo passed around my tent at 2:40am (sounded like lions in the dark) did not get any sleep after that. The next night another several groups passed right through my campsite while I was making dinner and I had to set up a folding chair on top of my truck canopy to get out of their way and enjoy the view. It was a spectacular but nerve wracking experience. Beautiful area but a long drive to other POI’s within the park. I’ll definitely be back.

amazing site

Obviously near Lamar valley. Very quiet. I had a spot right on the river and the ranger host was super friendly and knowledgeable.

Great campground. Hosts were great. Watch out for the buffalo - roughly 100 came through one morning. Many in my campsite.

Campground was perfectly remote with great wildlife viewing.

Very quiet, dark sky, campground host, ranger friendly but informed you of required guidelines and why.
Camped at site 8 and would come again if so lucky to catch a spot. Beautiful surroundings in Lamar Valley.
