Mammoth Campground is a bit strained on facilities, but otherwise an excellent area. More tent only areas ought be created to separate the true camper from the noise makers. Dogs should simply never be allowed - we all love dogs, but they are not appropriate in these parks.

Nice village area, campground was a bit tight. Woke up with a hers of Elk surrounding our unit, a 7x7 Bull Elk was within 5’ of us.

No tent pad at site 66, but there is a nice flat area up in the sage. Bear box was large and nice to have. Site also has picnic table and fire ring. Bathroom was clean, has sinks and mirror in the bathroom as well. Washed dishes in a plastic bin under a water spigot then had to dump dish water down the toilet to not attract bears. Elk bugled all night long and walked right through the campsite many times. Did not see any bears near Mammoth but did in Lamar and Hayden. The campground was conveniently located near Mammoth which has various amenities; as well as a short drive to Gardiner. Would absolutely stay at Mammoth CG again!

We enjoyed our stay at Mammoth with our 22' camper van (site #11). The location was great, the site was spacious, the restrooms were clean, and we liked the quiet environment of a smaller campground. We would stay here again.

Hosts were great. I chose a site that was less than optimal for my RV and it was right at the entrance. Planning on returning next year!

Mammoth campground was lovely at the bottom of the hill. The flushing toilets were clean with plenty of toilet paper and the water taps were located throughout the site.
It is quite a climb back into the little village at the top for dinner so best to drive it.

Great site. We could hear elk calls and owl hoots under a sky full of stars. The elk even came down the hill and started eating the shrubbery on the campsite to our right and the tent of the campsite to the left.

Mammoth is a good place. The generators bother me, they are quite annoying especially when an RV or other hard sided
camper runs them past cut-off time.

Spectacular campsite! Easy access to the restroom with a community water spigot right next to the site. Little to no trees, but the sagebrush is huge (~6ft tall), which makes for excellent privacy. Stars were awesome and hearing the elk bugle at all hours was magical!

Policies & Rules
General
- Mammoth Campground is managed by the park. If you are looking for campgrounds managed by Yellowstone National Park Lodges (Fishing Bridge RV Park, Bridge Bay, Canyon, Madison, and Grant Village campgrounds), please visit the Yellowstone National Park Lodges Camping website.
- RV or Camper Unit Delivery Prohibited. The delivery or pick-up of out-of-park RVs or other camper unit rentals is prohibited.
- Notify the Campground of Late Arrivals. To notify campground of late arrival or cancellation please call 307-344-2289
- Parking. All wheeled vehicles including trailers and motorcycles must be parked on parking pads or established roadways, so as not to block or restrict traffic in campgrounds.
- Camping Occupancy Limits. Maximum occupancy is six people per site. Camp only in designated sites. Camping is limited to 14 days from July 1 through Labor Day and to 30 days the rest of the year parkwide. The 44 day camping limit includes both concession- and park-operated campgrounds.
- Wildlife/Bear Regulations. ~Keep all food and related items - beverages, cooking utensils, stoves, pet food and, empty or full, food and beverage containers such as coolers, ice chests, and water jugs - locked inside your vehicle or stored in a food storage box, unless in immediate use. Bear resistant food containers must be kept in a vehicle, in a hard-sided camping unit, or in a food storage box. ~All trash and garbage must be disposed of in the provided bear-proof trash cans. Do not leave food related trash or garbage unattended. ~Washing dishes or clothing at campground hydrants or spigots is prohibited. Carry all dishwater/wastewater to the restroom toilet for disposal.
- Campfires and Firewood. Wood and charcoal fires are permitted. Campfires are permitted only in established fire grates. Fires must be attended at all times. Only dead, down, and detached wood may be gathered. Wood should not extend outside the fire grate perimeter. Do not break limbs off of standing trees, living or dead. Drown campfires thoroughly with water to make sure they are completely out. NOTE: Wood and charcoal fires may be subject to special restrictions due to fire danger. Restrictions will be listed on campground information boards and on the park's Current Conditions page. Propane grills and stoves are not usually affected by fire restrictions.
- Quiet hours are strictly enforced. No loud audio devices or other noise disturbances will be allowed during this time. Generators are prohibited between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Generators must be turned off durng the day when campsite is not occupied by site renter.
- Stay on Boardwalks and Trails. All travel in thermal areas is restricted to NPS designated trails and boardwalks.
- Fishing. To fish within the park, people 16 years of age and older are required to purchase and carry on their person a Yellowstone National Park Fishing Permit (you may purchase in advance). To learn more about fishing regulations, visit the park's Catch a Fish web page.
- 30 ft RV limit. From November through April.
