Beautiful campground, nestled on the side of a hill. Conveniently located 2 miles from Mammoth. The bathroom facilities were very clean and well stocked. Love the trees in the campground that provide some privacy. Only downside- this is right off the main road so there is road noise. The road was quiet at night, but a lot of cars go by during the day. It didn’t really bother us- but it might be a problem for others. Compared to other campgrounds/ I will choose to stay here again!

Our stay at Mammoth was very lovely! It was small enough not to feel cramped and the restrooms were really nice. Bear box and grills in every campsite was nice. Excellent views!

So loud - there was construction going on up the road so all night long semi trucks were going up and down the hill. It really took away from the peacefulness of the campground. On top of that, our site was closest to the bathrooms so people were walking through our campsite to get there and also caused a lot of noise. We barely slept the first night we were there because of the noise (I woke up every 4 minutes for several hours), so we ended up leaving a day early because we didn't want to listen to semi trucks all night again. Other than the noise the campsite is nice, but there's not much room for the tent sites. Be careful driving on the one way road through the sites. When we were there people we not following one-way rule and we almost got hit head on a few times.

Super wonderful camp hosts, lots of nearby hikes, and prairie dogs and elk are everywhere. Absolutely amazing experience..the only thing that was a bummer was being next to the road and all the construction trucks come through 24/7. But other than that an amazing time

The view from the campground is beautiful. Very clean and well-maintained facility. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The only drawback is no dump station at this campground. If you plan, it won't be an issue.

This campground is in rough terrain with very few trees so it does get hot. The campground host were awesome, super friendly and helpful. This site gives you full access to the old military outpost and the village of Mammoth Springs (try the ice cream at the general store!). This site also gives you easy access to Gardiner, Montana which is the closest area to get wifi and cell service if you need to check on things back home. We spent a day exploring the Bear Tooth Highway and loved it!

We had the best time at Mammoth Campgrounds. We were there in early May when temperatures were still 40 during the day and 20 at night. Even though we were in camping spot #3, right next to the entrance, we were never bothered by road noise or traffic. The best part of this campground is the bathrooms!! They are by far the best bathrooms from any National Park; well-lit, heated and flushable toilets. We were here four nights and loved every day of it!

Policies & Rules
General
- Mammoth Campground is managed by the park. If you are looking for campgrounds managed by Yellowstone National Park Lodges (Fishing Bridge RV Park, Bridge Bay, Canyon, Madison, and Grant Village campgrounds), please visit the Yellowstone National Park Lodges Camping website.
- RV or Camper Unit Delivery Prohibited. The delivery or pick-up of out-of-park RVs or other camper unit rentals is prohibited.
- Notify the Campground of Late Arrivals. To notify campground of late arrival or cancellation please call 307-344-2289
- Parking. All wheeled vehicles including trailers and motorcycles must be parked on parking pads or established roadways, so as not to block or restrict traffic in campgrounds.
- Camping Occupancy Limits. Maximum occupancy is six people per site. Camp only in designated sites. Camping is limited to 14 days from July 1 through Labor Day and to 30 days the rest of the year parkwide. The 44 day camping limit includes both concession- and park-operated campgrounds.
- Wildlife/Bear Regulations. ~Keep all food and related items - beverages, cooking utensils, stoves, pet food and, empty or full, food and beverage containers such as coolers, ice chests, and water jugs - locked inside your vehicle or stored in a food storage box, unless in immediate use. Bear resistant food containers must be kept in a vehicle, in a hard-sided camping unit, or in a food storage box. ~All trash and garbage must be disposed of in the provided bear-proof trash cans. Do not leave food related trash or garbage unattended. ~Washing dishes or clothing at campground hydrants or spigots is prohibited. Carry all dishwater/wastewater to the restroom toilet for disposal.
- Campfires and Firewood. Wood and charcoal fires are permitted. Campfires are permitted only in established fire grates. Fires must be attended at all times. Only dead, down, and detached wood may be gathered. Wood should not extend outside the fire grate perimeter. Do not break limbs off of standing trees, living or dead. Drown campfires thoroughly with water to make sure they are completely out. NOTE: Wood and charcoal fires may be subject to special restrictions due to fire danger. Restrictions will be listed on campground information boards and on the park's Current Conditions page. Propane grills and stoves are not usually affected by fire restrictions.
- Quiet hours are strictly enforced. No loud audio devices or other noise disturbances will be allowed during this time. Generators are prohibited between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Generators must be turned off durng the day when campsite is not occupied by site renter.
- Stay on Boardwalks and Trails. All travel in thermal areas is restricted to NPS designated trails and boardwalks.
- Fishing. To fish within the park, people 16 years of age and older are required to purchase and carry on their person a Yellowstone National Park Fishing Permit (you may purchase in advance). To learn more about fishing regulations, visit the park's Catch a Fish web page.
- 30 ft RV limit. From November through April.
