How availability alerts work
Booking & ReservationsFound the perfect campground, but it's fully booked for your dates? Set an availability alert and we'll keep watching for you. When a site opens up, we'll let you know so you can book it.
What is an availability alert?
An availability alert watches a campground for openings on the dates you choose. Instead of checking the page again and again, you get a notification when a spot becomes available.
- Free. No payment required.
- Always on. We check availability around the clock.
- Your choice of notifications. Get an email, a text message (SMS), or both.
How to create an alert
- Go to Availability Alerts. You can also click Create Availability Alert in the footer of any OutReserve page.
- Under Campground Name, start typing and pick the campground from the list.
- Choose your check-in and check-out dates. We watch exactly those dates.
- Optional: choose a Site Type: Tent, RV, Cabin, or Glamping.
- Under Notification Preferences, choose how you want to hear from us (see below).
- Click Create Alert.
How you'll be notified
- Email notifications are switched on by default.
- SMS notifications need an OutReserve account. Click Sign in to enable SMS alerts, then:
- Enter your mobile number with the country code (for example, +1 for the US).
- Click Send verification text. We send you one text with a code.
- Enter the code and click Verify number.
- Agree to receive alert texts for this alert.
Message and data rates may apply. To stop texts, reply STOP. For help, reply HELP.
When you get an alert
An alert means a spot opened up for your dates. Popular campgrounds can fill up again quickly, so book as soon as you can.
Managing or canceling alerts
You can cancel or change your alerts at any time. If you don't want alert emails anymore, you can unsubscribe at any time.
Create alerts with your AI assistant
If you've connected an AI assistant to OutReserve, it can create alerts, list your alerts, and check whether an alert has openings right now. You'll need to sign in to your OutReserve account through the assistant first. Learn how in Connecting your AI assistant to OutReserve.
