How to change the dates of my booking?

Life happens, and plans change! If you need to adjust your reservation dates, you can often do so directly through your OutReserve account. As long as your host's cancellation policy allows modifications.

How to change your dates

To request new dates for your booking:

  1. Log in to your OutReserve account
  2. Go to My Trips and select the reservation you want to modify
  3. Click Change dates
  4. Select your new check-in and check-out dates on the calendar
  5. Review the updated pricing and any differences in cost
  6. Submit your request

Your host will typically respond within 24 hours. If they approve, you'll receive a confirmation email with your updated itinerary.

What to know before changing dates

Availability matters

Your new dates must be available on your host's calendar. If your preferred dates aren't showing as available, they may already be booked or blocked.

Price differences

If your new dates cost more than your original booking, you'll pay the difference before the change is confirmed. If they cost less, you'll receive a refund according to your host's policy and your original payment method.

Cancellation policies apply

Some properties have restrictions on when you can modify dates (for example, not within 48 hours of check-in). These rules are set by your host and will be shown when you request the change.

Peak season considerations

During busy periods like summer weekends or holidays, availability may be limited and prices higher. We recommend requesting date changes as early as possible.

Can't find available dates?

If your desired dates aren't available at your current property, you have a few options:

  • Reach out to your host directly through Messages—they may be able to accommodate you
  • Consider alternative dates with similar weather and seasonal experiences
  • Cancel your current booking (if the policy allows) and search for a different property

Remember, cancellation fees may apply depending on how close you are to your check-in date and your host's specific policy.
