What happens after I book?

Booking & Reservations

Congratulations on booking your outdoor experience! Here's what happens next, along with everything you need to know to prepare for your stay.

Your confirmation and booking details

Within minutes of booking, you'll receive a confirmation email with your reservation details. This includes your booking dates, property name, total cost, and cancellation policy.

You can always view your complete trip details by:

  • Logging into your OutReserve account
  • Navigating to My Trips in the top menu
  • Selecting your upcoming reservation

Your booking confirmation serves as your reservation receipt—no need to print anything unless your host specifically requests it.

Preparing for arrival

About 5–7 days before your check-in date, your host will typically send detailed arrival information, including:

  • Precise directions to the property
  • GPS coordinates or special navigation tips
  • Entry instructions, gate codes, or lockbox details
  • Parking information
  • Check-in time and any special arrival procedures

If you don't receive this information 3 days before arrival, it's perfectly fine to send your host a friendly message requesting these details.

What to bring

Review your property listing for specific guidance on what's provided and what you should bring. Common items for outdoor stays include:

  • Bedding or sleeping bags (check if linens are provided)
  • Toiletries and towels
  • Food and cooking supplies
  • Flashlights or headlamps
  • Weather-appropriate clothing

Your host's listing should clearly outline all amenities and what's included with your reservation.

Need to make changes?

If your plans change, review your cancellation policy in your booking details. For modifications to dates or guest count, contact your host through messaging to discuss options.
