Likes: small campground, nice beach for kids, clear lake water, campsites nicely spaced from each other/equipped with firepit, table and feel safe camping there
Dislike: Not a fan of the reservation system, people seem to abuse this system by reserving more sites/dates needed and are always the prime sites on the lake or the sites close by. Some no-shows in reserved sites so others can't use them. Prefer the old system which was first come -first serve.

Spectacle Lake has to be our favorite campground!!! It has a beautiful beach and is very rustic. It's the best 2 weeks of the year.

I had a very nice camping experience
I stayed at a lakeside campsite (#3) and it was very nice, roomy, and quiet. Two picnic tables; one at the campsite itself, and one by the lake just a very short walk away. A very laid back and enjoyable experience! I look forward to returning in the future.

This campsite is very clean and not super busy. The sites are great for a small camper or tent camping but don’t plan to bring in anything bigger than a 36’ rv in any of the sites. The nature trail to Kentuck lake is a nice walk. The beach is nice and big for families to swim but the swim area is in front of the lakeside sites so if you don’t have a lake side site you feel kind of like you are bothering the lakeside site campers. The rules say no noise from 10pm-6am but generators ran nonstop and people party every night until 1:00am.

The site was located across the road from the beach. It was spacious and fit our camper and a big tent. It was partially shaded, so was comfortable even with temperatures in the high 80s. The picnic table and fire pit were in good condition. The restrooms near the campsite were spacious and clean.

From Eagle River, travel 7.6 miles to FR2178 (Military Road). Turn left (north) and continue 2.9 miles to Kentuck Lake Road (FR2465). Turn right (northeast) on FR2465 and continue 1.7 miles to FR2196. Turn left (north) and continue 2.2 miles to Spectacle Lake Road (FR2572). Turn right (east) and travel 1.2 miles to the campground.
