We were set up in the campground and only there a few hours and got a family emergency call so had to leave to go home. They were very understanding at Rec.gov and gave us a full refund. Very nice. Now we’re heading back for another visit.

Overall the park is very nice. However our site was not prepped before we got there. There were coals left in the grill and in the fire ring. Pine straw and leaves were everywhere. The bath house cleaning seems to be contracted out and done Mon/Wed/Fri. One of the 3 dumpsters was overflowing (don't ask me why people kept insisting on putting their trash in an already full unit). But after dumping garbage remained around the base of the unit and hanging on the sides. Even though the park hosts passed by it several times they never cleaned it up.
Make sure you eat at the Silo just outside the campground - great lunch.

Upon arrival to my site I was accosted by an elderly gentleman who asked me to turn off my music. I told him if he had a complaint he should not approach me, but tell management. When management arrived, I was reprimanded to be moved to appease all parties. I was moved to a beautiful site...but it was not fair considering management admitted that I was not in the wrong. I appreciate the end result but it seemed I was in the wrong. Excellent camping site though! I will return!

This park is one of the National Parks services best kept secrets. Many of the sites have private beach access. The site are large, level and private. Many with shared drives so that multiple family units can camp together. The sandy beach was a wonderful surprise and the water was clear. Very appealing.

This is a nice, quiet park that is well maintained. Bath houses are air conditioned and cleaned daily.
We stayed at site 41 which is a pull through site with water views on both sides. It is one of our favorites.

Would Not Recommend. Camp site #9 was right inside camp site #8 and only two feet from site #10. You are literally camping with your neighbors. How close the sites are together, shows the greed of the park. For the four days that I stayed, the restroom was never cleaned, same trash on the floor in the same spot day after day. The camp site had trash in the fire pit and litter around the site. Definitely not the park to go to for a pleasant camping experience.

Lovely campground. Waterfront site but no sewer. Love the waterfront.
