Beautiful campsites on the water. Jackson’s has the best fried chicken and I highly recommend.
However, the campground has unclean and unkept boathouse with no hot water during my shortened stay.

Great sights by the river. If you have a motorcycle, there are great roads to ride on.

I’ve enjoyed the park for many years and have good memories myself and family have made. My latest visit was ok but I hate to see the lack of maintenance on the grounds. Several years ago the Corp decided to cut a lot of trees and bamboo forest as my grandkids called it. The idea to open it up and cut down on mosquitoes and such I guess was the reason. Now however just as I suspected the briars and undergrowth are growing out of control because it was not continued to be cut and tended to. They should have just left it alone I guess because it had worked for many many years. Sometimes change is not a good thing. That being said we still love the park. Also the gate attendants are all great folks.
