Check-in was great, except we arrived after dark (darkness comes early in the winter!) and finding the site proved quite difficult, since lighting is virtually absent and the sites aren’t well marked. My 37-ft rig was almost impossible to fit in the pull-through due to the sharp entry angle and the pole placement. Bathrooms were minimally acceptable but not very clean. The worst part was one of our windows was shot out with a BB gun at 3:30 am. We never found out who did it. The money we saved staying at this park was more than lost on repair costs. The lake was pretty and the nearby town was beautiful.

This is definitely a place to have on your list. During our stay in mid-December it was about half occupied, leading to a quiet and peaceful visit. Bugs were at a minimum. Restrooms were always clean. OTA channels were at a minimum. It's close to town for shopping. Make sure to add the Providence Canyon State Park to see Georgia's Grand Canyon.

We loved our stay at this park! Our timing was a bit bad for our site (37), as it has a choke cherry tree which was full of ripe berries raining down on EVERYTHING and birds were all over our site going after them. Every day we had to clean bird berry doodoo off our chairs and the table. It was a mess. So pick that site only when it’s in other seasons. Bathrooms are spotless. Laundry costs are very reasonable. Hosts are cordial. Sunsets spectacular. The locals are so very friendly and hospitable. We will be back!

The park is great. Just a note: The park closes at 10pm. They shut the gates and will not allow anyone in. No matter what. Even if you have 4 sleeping kids in the car and were 30m past close and delayed due to circumstances outside your control. Even if the host is awake and steps away from unlocking the gate. Rules are rules. No exceptions.
