What Guests Are Saying
White Oak Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice among campers. Many enjoy the spacious, well-maintained sites, particularly those by the water, and appreciate the peaceful atmosphere despite some noise from motorized boats. While there are occasional concerns about restroom cleanliness and the need for better maintenance, most visitors express a desire to return.

We love it at White Oak Creek. It’s so beautiful there. It’s one of favorite campgrounds to go to. We just hope the repairs to is water pipe problems won’t take too long to repair.

Lay out of the park and site space was excellent.
We have stayed at many sites throughout the US and yours is one of the best.
Thanks,
Howard and Deborah

I’ve been camping at white oak creek my whole life, tons of good memories there! It’s been about 15 years since I’ve been, but when we bought a new camper it was the first place on my mind. The return trip was great, just as fun as I remember. Now I’m the dad making the memories w/ the kiddos. Planning another trip asap, hopefully to take my folks and relive the good ole days! The only issue with white oak is the same one it’s always been, just remember the bug spray to spray down your campsite with due to the ants. We used the ortho home defense spray from Home Depot and they were gone really quick.

We stayed two saturday nights, on our way to the beach and on our way back. On the stay on the way down, the campground looked nice except for the fact the grass and weeds were out of control. Looked as if it hadn't been cut in several weeks. They were cutting it Sunday morning when we left, so that was good, but why on earth not cut it during the week for the weekend crowd which I would assume is a bigger crowd than during the week? After they cut it it looked like new place. So much nicer. But unfortunately my parents site 26 gave them a horrible infestation of ants. Literally thousands. I've never seen anything like it. It took all week at the beach to get rid of them. My parents are elderly, mom had a stroke last year and dad has leukemia, they were looking forward to their first peaceful, relaxing vacation in a while, and instead they were having to deal with ants in the bed, their kitchen, all over their dash, it was horrible. When I told the front gate attendant upon checkout, she blamed the long grass and said it would get better since they were cutting it that morning. If long grass causes ants, THEN CUT IT BEFORE IT GETS TWO FEET HIGH?!?!?!? I have photos of the ants in my parents motorhome, I wish I could attach them here. Literally THOUSANDS.
On the way back from the beach, we took a chance and stayed again since we were on the opposite end of the campground, and came prepared with ant killer. The moment we parked our RVs, we sprayed all around our tires, our hoses, our jacks, our hitch post, everything. We didn't have ants that time but what a ridiculous thing to have to do just to have an enjoyable night. Our sites were beautiful and right on the water. Would love to visit again and fish, but too scared of the ant problem.

Site 83 was in need of maintenance, weeds growing in the pea gravel bad. Fish bones and other trash in fire pit. Bathhouse across the drive was in pretty good shape but did need some deep cleaning by pressure washer in shower area. People don’t have any respect for anyone coming behind them, dog poop close to the water everywhere.

We enjoyed our stay,Minus the grass had not been cut. The grass was high and our site had not been cleaned. The grass at the dog park was well over 2' high so the dogs couldn't enjoy it. I have been coming to this park since i was a small child and had never seen it look the way it did. My family loves coming here but they aren't keeping it up like it use to be.

I am a big fan of CoE campgrounds, but this White Oak Creek experience might change that, and a major part of the reason is the recreation.gov system that effectively removes the campground staff from the customer service system. Couple that with probably tired, possibly not completely trained, but definitely not helpful staff at the entrance and we had a very bad experience. From past experience, when I reserved a campground online at another CoE campground only to get there and find the site unusable for a motor home, I learned that I first needed to go the campground and ask about level sites and how far the sites were from the showers, then reserve the site. The staff at White Oak Creek insisted they were fully booked. Even after I showed them the web site with open spaces at their campground, their only response was, "then book it." I said I would do that but wanted to know which sites were level and close to showers. Very little help beyond "you must use the web site." I finally wound up booking a site they said was level enough for a short motor home and based on the map it looked close to the showers.

The grass needed to be cut. It was up to our knees when walking to the water. The ants were horrible. The tree’s need to be cut back some of the limbs hang so low they are on the campers.
