Site itself was hard to find under all the leaf litter. It made it difficult to tell exactly where drive/site was. I realize it was fall and other campgrounds, blow the leafs as they fall, but several inches deep, makes it difficult too.

Sites are large, paved and mostly level. They include a fire ring, grill, picnic table and small heavy duty wooden table. Most sites are directly on the lake. There are several playgrounds and a large fenced dog park. The bath house is standard issue and was clean. The dump station was clean. We stayed in site #3.

Our visit was in January 2025 (shoulder season) easy check in, the restroom as farther then desired for someone handicapped.

Great campground but my main dissatisfaction is when COA campground lock campers inside the campground. I totally understand locking the gate to prevent entry by non-campers but I cannot not see how you can justify locking campers in; there is no sensible justification for this. No hotel does this, no state park or private campground that I know of does this and if they do they give campers a gate code to allow them to go and come at will. This particular host said he was obligated to let me out but was not obligated to let me back in until regular gate hours. Why, WHY do you lock people IN? This treats us like we don't have any sense of responsibility. In a real emergency, having to wait on the host to answer the phone, get to the gate and unlock it could waste precious minutes. Please, stop locking the exit gate. I HATE THIS and vehemently disagree with it.
