We love this place. It is convenient for us to camp here. I would like to see White Oak Campground be open year round so people that are older, can go camping in the winter months also. Not everyone is about summer camping.

Nice camping site #83. Rained most of the 3 days. This caused ants to come into camper

This trip was my 19th year in a row coming to White Oak Creek Park. Each year it's my longest and most enjoyable camping trip. This year the mowing contractor (Anderson) ran over my patio umbrella. The neighbor witnessed him untangling it from the mower and throwing it in the woods. I reported it to the camp hosts who took pictures. They in turn said the I needed to call Tammy with USACOE who oversees the Anderson contract. I called Tammy and reported it. Five days later, after not hearing from anyone, I called Tammy again. She said the Park Ranger looked at it and couldn't determine it was caused by a mower. The fabric was torn in strips and there were patches of fabric and thread all over the area, not to mention my neighbor who witnessed it. After a discussion, she sent someone from Anderson to my campsite (luckily I was still there) and he takes pictures and asks questions. He said someone will get back with me and he did later in the week with a new patio umbrella. What's frustrating is, Tammy did absolutely no follow up, seemed put out that I'd even call, and like every other person involved never offered the simplest of apologies. I hope Senator Scott's Public Service Reform Act will boost the accountability of these federal employees.

Campground is pretty and very well maintained. The sites are a little too close imo. The lake is more of a residential lake and not particularly pretty. Great place for one night on the way to florida. Our site was level.
