Nice campground, have been going twice a year for about 5 years with a group to hunt. Usually 4-8 people. Has never let us down. Sites are always clean and it is generally a quiet campground.
This year was the first time I could ever complain about anything, the shower house needed a thorough cleaning they were ok but showers had some mildew in them. That is the only complaint ever. We really like camping there.

It was a beautiful place to camp, but infested with ants. We were there one night and a week later we still have an infestation with ants in our RV other than that it was a great place.

Love the solitude of this camp ground.
The only complaint that I would have is
If the bathroom doesn’t have air more fans would be nice. Shower and sweat in Summer is tough. We do plan to go back.

We loved Prairie Creek, quiet and peaceful. Met some great people and did some fishing. Lots and lots of sugar ants, they dont bite or sting but will get in your rig by the hundreds so take some perimeter spray. Will be back!

The weather was stormy that week so not many campers showed up. We had no problems and never lost power for the 9 days of our stormy vacation/fishing trip. The entire park was cleaned up daily and bath houses were clean and well stocked. Our youngest Grandson caught several fish and the cleaning hut worked well to clean our catch on site.
We are now looking for our next chance to come back.

We frequently stay at prairie creek and are noticing a marked decline in the overall appearance of the park. Specifically the camp hosts, one camp hosts area is neat and orderly the other looks like a junkyard with stuff laying all over. To further detract from the park one host has taken over a building where the dump station is and has his garbage laying out around it. During our most recent stay he had a boat parked there for several days which he appeared to be working on, thereby nearly blocking one lane to the dump station. This being just inside the entrance to the campground definitely is not a pleasant sight for visitors. Other than this it’s a very nice campground and the other volunteer workers are friendly, welcoming and do their part to insure that the sites are clean and ready for guests.

ANTS, ANTS, ANTS! The worst invasion of ants in our 40 years of RVing. Can't really blame anyone, except Mother Nature. The sites were a mess, but again, storm after storm. Mother Nature strikes again. The campground has great potential and I'm sure we'll try again. We were on site 38.

On this trip we visited all six of the campgrounds on the Alabama Lakes Region and this one was my favorite!
