Nice campground, but ants everywhere. I was awakened by a trailer filled with ants. Not thousands, 10s of thousands. Ants everywhere.
Went to the office and they came out with some Amdro and sprinkled it around. Told me I could water it in. Seriously!! If I didn't have several cans of ant spray, I couldn't have even gone back in the trailer. Be careful if you stay here.

Nice sites, concrete pads and level. Grills, fire rings, and a picnic table on adjacent packed gravel surface. Peaceful.

Very enjoyable stay at Prairie Creek! Well-maintained site and the hosts were pleasant and professional. Bath houses were clean and operational. We ventured only a few miles to the Holy Ground Battlefield Park for a couple of hours on the beach and a cooling plunge in the bracketed swim area. We enjoyed our stay so much that we made additional reservations here prior to leaving.

Our first trip with our two 5 year old granddaughters and we had a fantastic time ! The park is clean and well maintained, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We were at site #54, across from the playground, which was very convenient for taking our girls to play too many times to count. There are lots of water sites as well, not really a bad site in the whole park. This was our second stay at Prairie Creek and we’ll definitely be back.

We’ve been to many campgrounds and Prairie Creek is by far our favorite. We have camped there many times! The best part about Prairie Creek is the designated area just for tent camping (which is what we do). It’s on a point of the Alabama River, so the sites are surrounded by water. The sites are shaded and private. The people at check-in/out are very friendly.
