We camp here all the time. More often than most. So that tells you how much we LOVE it. I would have gave 5 stars but only did 4 bc it really sucked when we were told our kids could not ride their ride on toys for my 3 yr old while walking with us. I get the reason behind it but it still sucks the Littles cant have fun with the rest of the kids.

Very nice park. Water all around with large trees for shade. Bathrooms were great a one time but in need of an overhaul and of course an updated maintenance plan. I pointed out to a Ranger some easy basic maintenance projects that would improve the looks of the park overall. Like a gallon of paint and a brush. No money for that!!
Lots of work campers who are basic living in the park for free. Very little work being done. I saw a camper mowing his site with his own mower. The wooden decks are in need of immediate attention or they’ll be closed in the near future.
The lock fishing pier is another story but it is CLOSED. again, no maintenance or money. Infrastructure just wasting away. But Ukrainian get tens of billions in taxpayer dollars and I can’t fish off the pier on the Alabama river.
It’s a great park if you have a boat and use the launch to access the river for recreational purposes. And of course if you just want to lay low and relax, it’s great for that.

This is a very nice campground with every site on the water. The sites are spaced apart and very level. The very first thing we said to each other when we got there was we are definitely coming back and staying longer.

Very nice park. Sites are well spaced. Overall park maintenance is good. Somewhat challenging to get to, but internet directions are decent. Very little internet service at the park. Definitely will return.
