What Guests Are Saying
Bluff Creek Campground receives high praise for its friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and beautiful natural surroundings, including the frequent sighting of deer. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the convenience of boat access, although some express concerns about noise from a nearby paper mill and the need for improved maintenance, especially regarding the boat ramp and site cleanliness. Overall, guests find it a great spot for camping, with a desire for more amenities and better access to the water.

We arrived on the opening day of the park. We were very surprised that there were a number of sites that were in distinguishable from the landscape if they didn’t have picnic tables and fire rings present. It was a hit or miss some sites were completely clear of debris others were covered. There were trees down in spots. We saw staff once blowing a site , ONE SITE ONLY!
The bath house was very outdated . There were two stalls in the men’s bedroom that would not flush.
We understood that they were and are in need of staff, but if you’re aware that a site is booked they should at the very least clear those sites of debris.
Over all one of the worst COE ‘s we’ve been to.

Beautiful park. A little out of the way. Campground host was very nice. We basically had the entire place to ourselves except for maybe 2 other campers. 2 negatives; The first was the noise from the next door pulp mill? Loud banging throughout the night. The second one was that we were invaded by ants! I guess they were starving. They mounted a full assault on our camper invading every morsel of food. I hate ants!
Enjoyed the free laundry!

We had lots of fun. The camping site was very nice and was concrete where you park your camper So leveling camper was easy also have fire pits and picnic table and a prep table for cooking. Very nice place to go.

Since this park is favored mostly by fishermen we would love to have it open year round. It’s closed during the best fishing times which doesn’t make sense as it has no other amenities (swimming, trails, activities). Or close it during the summer and open it from September til April.

A group of us camp here every year on Labor Day weekend. We always enjoy our visit. We were planning a trip back for the end of September but was informed they would be closing mid-September, but Florence would remain open. I do not understand why the campgrounds close during the best months to camp….cool enough to breathe, sit around a campfire! Yes Florence is open, but I don’t enjoy looking at the back of another camper for 3 or 4 days!.

Our site is the only site on the water at water level. But the water is through 40ft of tall grass. That was disappointing, photos from other campers showed water, so I was hopeful, that was Plan A. My plan B was to walk thru to the boat ramp, but it is and has been closed due to alligators we were told, it is their neighborhood. So Plan C, I beat a path through the grass for the Kayak. Paddled way up creek, this made the trip for me, I would do it 30 more times. If we go back, I will come up with a plan D that beats A-C. Site 67 is the only site that has a clear path for a Kayak to the water. I saw dozens of kayaks on the back of pickups, not in the water, I was the only one in the water. What a shame, river front and can hardly get to the water. The campground was beautiful, the facilities clean, the staff great. COE needs to fund a project for campsite access and boat ramp opening. I did notice, it was Labor Day weekend, there were a lot of empty sites the entire weekend, over a dozen. This campground could be Premier with some shore line maintenance (beyond the Host's capabilities and equipment)
