This location has beautiful wooded forest with plenty of space between sites. You get to feel peacefully tucked in and not too close to other campers. The only complaint was that the pier on the river is in disrepair. There are signs up saying it is closed because it is unsafe to walk on. Would have been a good place to try fishing or just sit and watch boats go by if it weren't so dilapidated.

It was very nice and clean both the restrooms as well as the growns. Friendly staff. Please be prepared when coming to this park, it is in a remote area and about 15 min from the nearest store or food.

Beautiful campground, the campsites were very nice. BUT the yellowjackets were bad! I couldn’t have a drink outside without them flying all around it, even swallowed one and got stung in the mouth so that was not fun. And my friend also got stung in the arm. I guess it’s a part of camping, but never experienced that before until now. Other than that, i would definitely camp here again. But would definitely take precautions with the yellowjackets!

The park is quiet with beautiful views. The restroom is clean and well stocked. The fishing dock is closed but you don’t know that until you get to it (down a deep sloped trail). The swimming area is desolate, not sure anyone would want to swim there. The trail is open and paved. We saw many deer, turkeys, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The camp hosts are very present and friendly. Overall a nice place and we will come back!

Deerlick Creek is accessible via US Highway 82, approximately 15 miles to the north, and Interstate 20/59, which is around 20 miles to the southeast.
Policies & Rules
General
- Park Attendants will NOT be making reservations at the gatehouse. All reservations will be made via the recreation.gov app, recreation.gov website, or by calling 877-444-6777.
- Gates are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Hiking trails, bicycle trail and group shelters are for registered guests only.
- Limit of two vehicles per site.
- Electric and gas scooters must be licensed and street legal
- Park attendants cannot perform site transfers Thursday-Saturday or on holiday weekends during the peak season
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- No ATV or UTV use is allowed.
