Upon my arrival I was greeted by a very pleasant attendant at the gate-house. Directions were clear and she even pointed out the location of free firewood. I found that my site was clean and the amazing part was that the site (where the trailer would sit) was level. Placement of the electric and water was convenient. The grill, firepit and table were all clean.
A very pleasant overnight visit. I will look forward to returning to Deerlick Creek!

I stayed here for one night with my dog in my mini camper van. Nice sites, good privacy. Only complaint was that the tent sites are down the hill from the parking spot, so kind of inconvenient if you are sleeping in your van. I didn't use the shower due to covid concerns but the bathrooms seemed clean. Some people were playing music out on the lake and it was pretty crowded so don't come here if you want total solitude. But it was a nice stay :)

The camping sites at Deer Lick Creek were the best maintained sites that we’ve ever seen. The camp hosts had cut firewood for everyone in the park and made it available to everyone without charge. The pads were concrete, level, spacious, and scenic. The sites that overlooked the lake had railed decks to sit on that were well maintained. Each site had a fire pit, an elevated charcoal cooker, and a wooden box to sit an outdoor cooker on of some kind or anything else a camper might want to use it for. I’m from Arkansas and this is the nicest Corp or Engineers park that I’ve ever visited.

The camp host was very friendly and helpful. We came to Tuscaloosa to be in this nice park while we attended a wedding in Bessemer. They worked with us about the gate for us to arrive back late after the wedding. Beautiful park. She suggested that we change from our original booked site of # 18 to #3 because we have a 41' fifth wheel that would have been hard to maneuver into site #18. Good choice.

Wowza! Very nice campground. USACE campgrounds are always a few notches above state parks and this one is no exception. Plenty of space between campsites. Spacious sites. Beautiful setting. Plenty of trees. We enjoyed hiking on the paved trail through the woods. Friendly and helpful volunteer staff. We stayed here on our way to the Florida Panhandle and liked it so much that we stayed here for two nights on our return trip. We will be back.
