Beautiful cabin, loved our time there. Wish we would have booked it for longer.

As of 01/01/2023 the trail was in decent shape, a few areas were washed out and steep. That made it more difficult than it looked on paper. One of our party didn't have a lot of experience hiking in ice/snow, so that made it very difficult for them. Because of that it took us 8hrs (!) to hike the 5.5 miles. The trail has reflective markers pretty regularly, so it's doable in the dark.

Of the things that tend to disappear from these cabins there was still a splitting maul, hand saw, snow shovel, working broom. No dry firewood in the wood shed, but there was a porcupine living under it. So watch out if you've brought your dogs! All in all its a great spot to explore. Take care of it if you use it!

This cabin has it all. A decent hike out with change in terrain and MANY streams you can steal fresh water from, tons of bird watching if you dig kinglets like me, and once you get to the cabin your very own glacier. Also shout out to the Forest Service 2022 trail crew who removed all of those tree falls along the trail. It cut at least 30-40 minutes off my hike and made it WAY easier and safer for my traveling companions who don’t like to bushwhack like me. Definitely book this cabin for some romance, peace of mind, or small get together. Happy trails- -Rodion

Beautiful, wet rainforest hike! Plan on having soggy shoes by the time you arrive. The cabin was beautiful, amazing view of the glacier and surrounding peaks. So peaceful and quiet. Cabin in great shape, clean, propane heater was great. We really enjoyed our night at the cabin!

The trail to the cabin was difficult (new snow and single digit temps), but the cabin warmed up fast. Great time during the next day with clear (cold) skies and snow shoe across both lakes to the glacier.

Having a heated cabin was SO NICE, we woke up to a frozen lake, so it was definitely a cold night and we were nice and warm in the acbin without having to haul in a heat source or spend hours hauling and cutting firewood. The lake is beautiful, incredible views from the porch of the stars at night in the crisp, clear, fall air!

I love this cabin in the winter and have always wanted to cross country ski across the frozen lake to the Glacier. This year, the stars finally aligned with the perfect weather for my mid-March reservation! Simply gorgeous scenery and idea solitude. The cabin was tidy and cozy and the propane heater worked great. Unfortunately, some previous campers burned garbage in the wood stove and left beer in the cupboards. I packed out the trash and wish folks were more respectful but I know that happens.

I loved this cabin. Given trail conditions, I think it's better to visit in winter. When I went there was a good amount of snow on the ground and the trail was well-packed. It was definitively not skiable, and there was not much of an advantage crossing the lake by skis vs feet (although I did so). It wouldn't be worth doing to tow a sled, IMO. Micro-spikes would be key overall in any remotely wintry conditions. There were an axe and a small hatchet out there.

13 new huge trees down since last hiking the trail in November. Following the New Years holiday wasn’t a good idea....puke and poop with toilet paper scattered about not even far from the outhouse and cabin. Thought I had reserved two nights but found out when other folks arrived I was mistaken so hiked out in the dark. Trail was well marked for hiking out with headlamps. That was a relief. Trail to glacier was ok a lot of bouldering. Too sketchy to attempt going down the rock and snow to the moraine so didn’t make it to the glacier proper. Overall would probably reserve that cabin again however considering $83 a night with difficulty reserving a night that it needs attention. Sorry there wasn’t any firewood to build a fire in the stove but got the heater to work marginally well.

A "how to" guide for the wood stove would have been helpful. Such a beautiful, clean place that is relatively accesible.

The cabin was lovely, clean and warm. There is a very loud creak in the lower bunk. I don't know if it needs to be screwed tighter or what. There are some pots, pans and games left at the cabin. The trail is long and rough; very rooty and very wet with water rushing down the trail in several areas and slick plank in others. The lake and glacier views are beautiful. There is also a large waterfall past the cabin about .25 miles. Enjoy!
