About Towers Arm Cabin

Towers Arm Cabin is one of the Petersburg Ranger District's most remote cabins. A large tidal flat in front of the cabin provides excellent waterfowl viewing and hunting opportunities. Visitors also enjoy the area for its fishing and wildlife viewing. The cabin is accessible by boat or float plane only.

There are 3 serious needs. Roof is rotting above door. In rain storm water running down inside corner SE side cabin. Second, chicken wire or other material is needed on outside deck. It is seriously slippery. Entrance sign support there. Sign gone.

No leaks while we were there. Deck is slippery upon entrance to the cabin. *Make sure you come on high tide or you won’t make it in (especially if your not in a skiff)*

Cabin was well maintained on the inside. Plenty of firewood. Excellent get away!

Getting There

Access is by boat or float plane only. From Petersburg the journey is 16 mi by float plane or 38 mi by boat. A 15-foot tide is required for boat access to the cabin. A 16-foot tide is recommended for float plane access. Lower tides may require up ...

This facility is located in an extremely remote and wild area; before making a reservation, become aware of bear, water, and weather safety (including cold)
Recreating in Alaska can present both obvious and hidden dangers; please be aware of your surroundings and be prepared for extended stays due to occasionally poor weather
There is no source of fresh water near the cabin; guests must bring their own
Firewood at the cabin is supplied only for heating the cabin, it is not for outdoor campfires; collect dead and down wood from the forest for your outdoor campfire
Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is not allowed
High levels of Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) have been recorded in clams found in this area
All garbage and food must be packed out
