What Guests Are Saying
Devils Pass Cabin offers stunning views and a spacious interior, making it a lovely retreat for hiking enthusiasts. While some guests encountered issues with snow infiltration and a non-functional stove, the cabin remains comfortable and cozy once heated. Despite minor inconveniences, many visitors appreciate the cabin's charm and the serene, isolated hiking experience it provides.

Awesome cabin, however there was snow coming in through the cracks in the corner of the cabin from the wind. Took a while for the heater to warm it up in the -12 degree weather but impressively it got hot enough we had to turn it down. Beautiful views on all sides!

What a lovely cabin and hiking experience! While there was still a decent amount of snow between miles 6-9, it was still such a beautiful area and our damp shoes and socks only made the appearance of the cabin within the valley an even more welcome site.
The cabin was spacious, with 4 bunks, counter space and a table for dining, cards and puzzles. We didn't try to use the stove, but it was perfectly comfortable without any heat. We didn't spot anyone else on the trail or nearby, making it a perfect escape.

We love Devil’s Pass Cabin and have stayed there in past years and never had issues. I am giving a lower rating this time around because the stove stopped working and we had to leave a night early. I reached out to recreation.gov to resolve the issue, but they just pointed me to their strict cancellation policy. If other folks had trouble with the stove as well, I would urge someone to come up for maintenance.
This time around, we planned our trip in late May and prepared to hike through significant amounts of snow. It all worked out and our snowshoes came in handy on this beautiful, albeit strenuous, 10ish mile hike up. However, we were greeted by a young g couple who were staying in the cabin without reservation. They were friendly and quick to leave our cabin and pitch their tent a few hundred feet away from the cabin. It was still an uncomfortable and awkward experience after a long, tiring hike. For anyone planning a trip up here or hiking resurrection pass, please be prepared for significant amounts of snow until at least mid-June. The other campground on Devil’s Pass was completely snowed in, which is why this couple decided to cabin “squat”. Do your research, please. And stay safe!

Cabin was everything it was advertised to be. You will need to bring fuel for the stove if the weather is cold. The stove is for heating only - not cooking. We brought fuel, but didn't use it and just poured it in the tank to lighten our load on the way out. The Cabin is "conveniently" located at the junction of Devils Creek Pass trail and Resurrection Pass trail. Make sure you bring everything you need including toilet paper.

11/2 - 11/3/2022 Cabin was awesome. Brought in one gallon of Kerosene from AIH - we blasted the stove on high for an hour upon arrival, kept it off overnight, and then blasted it on medium/high again in the morning for a few hours and definitely did not go through the one gallon (only 4 or 5 hours of total stove use on medium to high). Creek beside cabin was still open to get water but snowpack is also plenty high to melt snow if needed

Hiked up from Cooper Landing side, camping in the Devils Pass campsite the night before. The pass is gorgeous and there were wildflowers everywhere. Cabin is about a mile from campsite, so we timed our hike so we arrived at the cabin at noon. This gave us the whole day to relax, enjoy a short day hike from the cabin, and nap on the deck in the sunshine.
Everything was in excellent shape—cabin, outhouse we’re both clean. Water is right there too from a rushing creek. Loved out stay—look forward to returning!

Devils Pass cabin is a MUST if you’re hiking through early on when there’s still significant snow between Devils Pass and Resurrection Pass (the campsites are under snow). It’s the only cabin on the tundra. Absolutely gorgeous views, creek beside the cabin and the outhouse is a real luxury.

Great cabin. Clean, with minimal trash left behind by previous campers. The oil stove worked perfectly. The step-by-step pictorials were excellent to get the stove up and running. However, even at the highest/warmest setting, we still required puffer layers while inside the cabin. Definitely bring more oil than you think you will need. We used 2 gallons. Got to the cabin at 330pm and left the next morning at 9am. We ran the stove at moderate while we were awake and on low while sleeping. We ran out of oil at 730am.
