Porcupine is a LOVELY forest campground! As an Alaskan, I have camped here several times with delight. The campground is located beyond the end of the small town of Hope, and even when music events are happening in town, the campground is quiet. The trees are tall and super healthy, and the greenery is lush. The campsites are very nice, and the outhouses are kept cleaned and stocked daily. This year's campground hostess, Karen, is friendly and attentive.
My ONLY complaint is that, for whatever weird reason, horseflies hatched out here this summer, and were quite the pest in the middle of the day when the temperatures were warm. Horrible beasts! I'd not experienced them before this summer. We were grateful we'd brought a bug tent!

Quiet, beautiful place. Appreciated the narrow, paved street (no dust.) Great hike and scenery. Good bike ride down to town.

Beautiful campground. The only drawback was all the big flies everywhere. We had a heck of a time keeping them out of my camper van. Also, I want to recommend that the park service cut back some of the overgrown trees and bushes as I think it's dangerous having dry plants so close to the campfires. Would also like to note that the camp host was very helpful and friendly.

This site was my personal favorite. We had a 24ft RV - the grounds were paved, and even though the campground was small we still felt like we were in a private nook. It was peaceful, clean, quiet, service convenient, and the views were stunning!! I cannot wait to return and spend more than one night here.

the site is clean and very private when it comes to campsites. Local fishing and trailheads for hiking are a plus!
