Swan Lake Cabin is a rustic cabin on beautiful Swan Lake, providing access to fishing, hunting, hiking, and wildlife viewing opportunities.
The cabin can be accessed by hiking, biking, skiing, horseback and snowmobile. Visitors are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring several of their own amenities.

Swan Lake Cabin offers a beautiful setting with scenic views, easy lake access for boating, and cozy amenities like a wood stove. While some found the fishing lacking and the approach trail overgrown, the cabin's charm and comfort, along with opportunities for activities like canoeing and Bocci Ball, make it a favorite summer retreat. Improvements to the cabin's windows enhance the overall experience, providing more light and warmth.
The Swan Lake Cabin is an incredible place to stay the night nestled at the edge of a lake that did, indeed, serve as a home to many swans. A piece worth knowing - the cabin contains a wood stove that heats up the relatively small cabin quite quickly. In November 2019 there was just enough wood for us for one night and enough to leave for the next folks. Beyond that the wood shed only had one or two extremely knotted rounds (not sure if or how often wood is stocked).
Well I paid for it and never got to stay in it because of the fires, you guys never contacted me or return my money or say that I can still use it, if I did that to you I don’t know what you would have done, so if you still have any concern please return my money for not using the cabin you guys asked to return because of the fires, I did get to stay my 1st day at fox creek !

Winter travelers need to be able to evaluate avalanche and over-ice travel conditions. For more current travel conditions call the district office. The trail is closed to horse/pack stock from April 1 to June 30, and is open to over-snow motorized vehicles from Dec. 1 to April 30 every other winter season, beginning with the winter of 2007-2008. It is closed to motorized vehicles every other winter season beginning with the 2008-2009 winter season.
Highway access
The nearest major road is the Sterling Highway, which is accessible at milepost 53.2. From there, it is a 12.8-mile hike on Resurrection Pass Trail South to reach the cabin.
