Twin Peaks is one of the best NPS campgrounds in the country. Level concrete pads on all sites. Outstanding views and well spaced sites. The only NPS campground that offers solar showers in the restrooms for free. Always kept clean. Great way to experience the upper Sonaran Desert.

The area was beautiful and the park rangers made us feel welcome.

Everything was great here. We rode our gravel bikes on on the Ajo Mountain Loop and Puerto Blanco North. We saw two ranger talks in the evening that were very informative. My only complaint is the cold solar showers.

We love this Park (NM). The campground is on a plateau which overlooks the Mexico side of the border. There are hills backdropping the CG. All sites have concrete parking pads, picnic table and bbq grill. Potable water and restrooms are spread out in the CG. There are rows for those using generators which have restricted use hours. Rows for non generators and tent camping rows. Plenty of hiking trails exist to keep one busy for many days. The night skies are fantastic as there is minimal light intrusion. Check the bulletin board for nightly interpretive programs and events like a birding walk or scorpion hunt. Pump out station and potable water for RV’s. Solar panels work great here as there is no power hookups.

Stayed in the non generator area. The sites there are dirt and have large ruts from rain runoff. There is a shower, which I appreciated.
However, the spray from the fixed nozzle mostly wets the wall. A nice nature trail loops around the campground, and If you have high clearance vehicle, there are a couple good trails worth taking. No T-Mobile service, but if you drive toward Ajo to the (unmanned) checkpoint area, you can get service near there without driving all the way to Ajo.

We had an excellent stay! Campsites were well maintained, restrooms and showers clean, and the park service employees helpful and informative. Don't miss the evening programs, or the ranger-led hikes. Our favorite park!

A favorite National Park. Campground well maintained, RVs that use generators separated from those who do not, rangers very helpful and knowledgeable. Love the evening presentations!

Great trails, great drive loop across from the park. Nice sites with enough room. Good bathrooms close by. Attended one ranger talk-very interesting. Others weathered out. Enjoyed the campground perimeter trail.
Beautiful scenery. Was happy to have a whole section without generators!! Enjoyed visitor center exhibits.
The wind through the doors during the ranger talk was horrible...maybe needed to move outside or into the exhibit area.

170 is a no-generator site next to the tent-only section that was quiet—except for the cooing of the many quails passing through.
One thing we noticed immediately upon arrival was all the cars with their hoods popped. Turns out there is a packrat problem and lifting the hood prevents them from nesting in your engine.
The campground has drinking water, bathrooms, and showers. It also has a dog-friendly trail around it and another one that goes to the Visitor Center.
The one thing the campground (and the park) does not have is a store that sells ice cream and ice. For both, we drove to the gas station at the border.
