Potato Patch campground is great! It's so close to the tri-cities area around Prescott and offers a fast way to beat the heat. The campground is well maintained and has lots of tall pines. The toilets are kept very clean for vault toilets so they're not a bad experience. The campground is very close to an amazing vista of the Verde Valley. Truly a gem of a campground.

All the sites in the loop we were on (loop A I believe) were pull through. The sites are long enough for fairly large travel trailers or RV's but we had to unhitch our truck and park it beside the travel trailer. The sites are not widely separated but there are trees between, Aspens. The only trail I'm aware of is a short trail from Loop A to Loop B - good option for walking the dog. The temperature was comfortable and there was adequate shade when we added our canopy to the tree shade. We drove from the camp site into Jerome on the two nights we were there. My wife was very interested in checking out the shops. I recommend "The haunted hamburger" restaurant.

The park staff or excellent very friendly and helpful. The cleanest open pit toilets I've ever seen. No smell no bugs very well maintained. Just watch out for the skunks we tend to roam the park at night.

Rick, the host, is on top of everything. His wife is also incredibly kind and professional. Sad to have them end their hosting at Potato Patch.

I really appreciated the composting toilets, thank you!
