We have gone up to the camp ground for about 25 year,to the old campground and now to the new one and we love it a it is only 20 miles from home. Sorry about having to make reservation now as we just go up there at the spur of the minute. The Huebners

Potato patch has beautiful sites with the amenty of clean bathrooms which have been newly upgraded (maybe composting??). We have been there a few times and found sites that have more privacy than your typical state park. We like the idea of being more in nature but can't do it without a full size toilet. Behind us were no campers, just trees and the NF. There is a lake an easy walk away and the Arizona trail is accessible near by with beautiful terrain moving north (we didnt do the southern direction). Ranger station up the road is very friendly with additional local information.

We will DEFINITELY be back! Our son loved the campground rangers and they enjoyed my son too as well. My son enjoyed it so much because he brought all of his dinosaurs to play in the nature and run his imagination! We might come back with more kids away from the city and technology! The place was well maintained and cleaned! People were friendly and minding their own businesses!

This is a clean and well maintained campground. But too much generator noise from 10 am to 10 pm for my taste. A little close to the highway.

This is a great little campground, The couple that over see the area are extremely kind and help full, Other camper were friendly and respectful. The only issue we ran into was the closest place to get fire wood was over 20 minutes away. So you don't want to forget anything you might need if you don't want to have to do some extra driving.

To make our reservation was easy and without any hassle. When arriving at our site the camp host, Ken, had already posted a "Reserved" sign with the length of our stay. We have stayed at this site for a few years before the "Reservation" program was started and we really like the Potato Patch C.G. The camp host was very friendly, courteous and accommodating. Also, as always, this C.G. has very clean sites and bathrooms. It is really an excellent place to relax!

The two times I've camped at Potato Patch, the campground was tidy, fire pit has been cleaned out and it's has always been quiet and pleasant. The names of the hosts escape me at the moment, but they are welcoming, kind and great conversationalists!

Would highly recommend this campground!

Located in a quiet shady hollow among pine trees. Close to Jerome. No cell service! There has been no sign where to turn, but it is the road on the opposite side of 89A from Mingus Summit Rest Area. If you need cell service, and want great vistas, Mingus Mountain Campground is for you.
