This is a beautiful area and full of unique histories. Just keep in mind that camping is quite rustic, but the sunsets are exquisite.

Very quiet camp sites! Very little traficc on the main road. Nice and dark too for star gazing!. There is a low fence to keep people away from the petroglyphs so some are a good 50' away fro you!. Usual pit toilets. Fire pits and benches at each site.

We had the best site. There was plenty of room for our Class A. Sites were clean, well spaced, and in good shape even after the recent heavy rains. Having the Petroglyphs right near the campground was a real plus. We definitely have it on our map to visit again.

Very nice CG. Spread out nicely with large parking area's. The glyphs are a added treat. Confusion reigns with the reservation system. When we arrived some one was in our spot. We showed them the reservation on our phone. They have been coming here for years and had no idea that they had to pay or make a reservation.
Fortunately they were cooperative and moved on. Better marking at the entrance and at campsites might help with this problem.

The campground is accessible via Interstate 8, with the nearest exit being Painted Rock Dam Road/Exit 102, approximately 12.5 miles east of the campground.
