Gorgeous! We wish we had booked more nights here. Very big, spacious sites (unlike campsites inside GRCA), clean vault toilets, elk wandering around. We couldn't hear any highway noise. Although, we did hear GRCA helicoptors. It was no problem to fill up our camper with water, shower, and do laundry at Mather camper ammenities. (The ranger even showed us where to park the camper while we showered.) It is a short (5-10min) drive to the West Entrance of GRCA and there was little to no wait at the entrance.
Our only suggestion for improvement would be to have a trash can near the vault toilet. The only dumpsters are near the entrance of Ten-X/ Tusayan - Montane.
We visited the week of/after Memorial Day. Perfect weather. GRCA wasn't too crowded yet.

Great site near Grand Canyon, with far less people! Lots of shade with tall trees. Nice area to walk or run. Saw several huge elk laying in the camp site!

Nice and quiet while we were there. The camp host was friendly and had a nice visit with them. It's close to the Grand Canyon so we visited the village area that we had not been to. Looking forward to going back to the campground with our bikes next time.

Location of the camp itself is great; very close to Grand Canyon. The nature is beautiful. The campsites are very close to each other and there are no trees or anything to “hide” from other people. When we were at the camp, nearby was a big group of people that had loud music and it was very annoying; so if you are trying to be more secluded and away from other people this may not be a good place. Also; the soil is full of deep rocks so it was very hard to find a spot to put up a tent as the stakes would no go in due to rocks.
But apart from that; the camp itself is clean, has bathrooms close by and well taken care of. I would come back for sure

Lovely campground, vault toilets were clean, stocked. Campsites were wooded with plenty of room between sites; did not feel crowded.

I spent 7 nights at Black Bear loop and loved every minute of it. The campground hosts were very friendly and kept the pit toilets very clean. The campsites are huge with very nice fire pits and concrete picnic tables. There are potable water spigots and dumpsters, but they’re near the entrance to the campground, not in each loop, which is a bit inconvenient, but not a deal breaker for me. It’s a very quiet campground most of the time, but is near the Grand Canyon Airport so you will hear planes flying over occasionally. Overall I felt it was much better than the campgrounds in the Grand Canyon if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay

General
- COMMERCIAL TOUR GROUPS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT TEN-X CAMPGROUND Commercial operators MUST obtain a special use permit to operate on National Forest System lands, including Ten-X Campground. Due to high public demand, Kaibab National Forest will not be issuing any special use permits for Ten-X Camground until further notice. Therefore, no commercial tour groups are allowed at Ten-X Campground. All violators will be removed from the campground immediately and given a fine for violating the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Single campsites accommodate a maximum of 8 people and 1 vehicle. Double campsites accommodate a maximum of 14 people and 2 vehicles. Groups that arrive with more people than allowed will be asked to move and will be charged for an additional site. Additional vehicles may be accommodated depending on the site. Each additional vehicle is subject to a $5/night fee
- No utility hookups
- Generators are allowed at Ten-X Campground. Generators can only be operated from 6am to 9pm.
- Limit of 15 vehicles per group site
- Due to limited water supply, RVs are not allowed to fill up at the campground
- No dumping of waste or grey water inside the campground; there is a dump station and water fill inside Grand Canyon National Park
- No shower or laundry facilities; these services are available inside Grand Canyon National Park
- Pull-through sites can accommodate up to a 35-ft. RV
- No use of off-highway vehicles inside this facility
