Tusayan - Montane

What a hidden gem! This campground is spacious, toilets are clean, quiet and literally just 10 mi from the Grand Canyon. No dump station at all, but we stayed 10 days in our Class A with no problems.

This campground is well spaced out and quiet with new, clean, pit toilets and close to Grand Canyon. That's all I can say for the good. When I made the reservation 3 months ago, the ONLY sites you were allowed to reserve were double sites, which were double price ($44). Not knowing the expected crowds, I bit on making the reservation (site # Pronghorn 11). There are no hook-ups (no water, no electric, no sewer, and only pit toilets) for $44. When we arrived, May 15th, we found that the sites are NOT "double sites". It would be pretty much impossible to get two campers into one of these "double sites". We had enough room for our 5th wheel, and the "double" site space gave us enough room to park our truck, that's it. We also found out that the campground was almost empty and if you arrive without a reservation, you can pick a single site that fits your needs for $20, but if you have an Annual America the Beautiful Pass, it is only $10. Discount does not apply to so-called "double sites", and no discounts for reservations. So, if we would have showed up as a first come first serve camper we could have done it for $10 per night. $44 per night is a total rip-off for just a place to park with a picnic table. Sorry to be negative, but this was a very poor value, and if you make a reservation, they really get your money. We camped at Tusayan Montane Campground in a 42' Fifth Wheel.

Well maintained, good spacing between campsites.

Friendly host. Even helped toll some firewood to my campsite since i arrived on motorcycle. Very happy with this campground

Cleanest vault toilets I've ever used.

The camp hosts were awesome!! The sites were generously spaced. Also, some of the cleanest Forest Service restrooms we have ever.

Hosts are wonderful and so welcoming. Tent site in the back loop was secluded and very nice. Pit toilets are the cleanest I’ve ever seen!!!

I loved this campground. The spaces were spacious and private. We were a little bit of a walk from the bathroom, but once we figured out where everything was, it was a cinch. We brought our bikes and drove to the nearby town where we enjoyed riding up the Greenway to the south rim entrance without having to wait in the car lane. It was a beautiful day cycling around the canyon.

Quiet, well kept. Wish there was water refill stations

Very well kept campground. People adhered to the quiet hours and the facilities were very clean as were the campsites, fire pits and picnic tables!
