What Guests Are Saying
Rock Crossing Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and beautiful views, making it a popular choice for families and groups. Campers appreciate the friendly hosts and easy access to outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking at the nearby Blue Ridge Reservoir. There was no camp host. Someone ran their generator all day and all night. There were closed campsites, and people who had reservations arrived to find their campsite was closed with no notification. Someone who was gonna camp in a now closed. campsite were parked in our campsite when we arrived.
They kindly moved but no one answered the phone. No Rangers were around until the day we were leaving
and one bathroom ran out of toilet paper.

There were very few campers when we were there. The host had left before we arrived so the Forrest service crew came and serviced the latrines. They do a good job. The weather was great.

This is a remote campground. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is a great place to do so. It's about 2.5 mi off the paved highway. A car can make it on the dirt road leading into the campground, but it would be slow going. The campground is near the Blue Ridge reservoir if you want to fish or go kayaking. There are toilets with running water at the toilets. No running water or electricity at the camp sites.

Campground very well kept, very beautiful area....my only down vote was the group of young boys that decided to have a boys weekend. Up until 12ish -loud talking im sure alcohol was involved. Sad because the campground was full with families with kids from 5 to 10 years old. No one wants to hear yelling and cursing while trying to sleep. We left a day early after we noticed they were staying another night.

Great campground. Beautiful surroundings. Clean facilities. The hosts are always so kind. Lots of hiking, biking, off road trails, and the reservoir is so close.

Campsites all spaced far apart, really nice for privacy and very quiet. Also very clean and well maintained.

Beautiful campsite. Well-maintained.
It'd be nice if the sites were further apart, but I say that about every campground.

We stayed here mid-week, so I can’t speak as to what it’s like on a weekend. But during our time, it was very quiet. Restrooms were clean and the host was pleasant. Some of the sites have great views. Sadly the road that leads to the campground is pretty rough for a travel trailer, but that’s not the fault of the park. We will be back so we can kayak CC Cragin.

Beautiful, clean and well designed. we had beautiful views from the campsite, easy access to restrooms and trash. I think it was one of the nicest campgrounds I have been in!
