Rock Crossing Campground (AZ)

Secluded campground with extra clean vault toilets that actually smell good. The sites were raked so nicely that I hated to make footprints in them. Trees are trimmed, sites are very clean. The views of the rim/canyon are visible from both sides of the campground so it's hard to get a bad site. The road going down to the reservoir is super rough especially at the end. Our kayak group enjoyed paddling and staying at the campground where we were close enough for campfire get-togethers, yet not too close for comfort. We never saw the camp host, but the park rangers were really nice that came through.
I would definitely stay here again!

This is a lovely campground with lots of space and a beautiful area but unfortunately, the weekend we went at 55 mph winds and it was very challenging to set up camp to have dinner when your tent camping. Also, I didn’t like the fact that they were allowing campfires when there’s 55 mph winds and I talked to the campground host and he says yeah, they may or may not shut it down, which is kind of scary.

Nice, clean campsite . Loved exploring the area...Blue ridge reservoir and the mognollon rim. No bugs, beautiful weather!

Perfect spot for quick access to the reservoir or the AZT. Bathrooms were very clean!

Host was very accommodating, restrooms were clean, beautiful sites, close to Blue Ridge. Recommend!

Our site (19) was perfect. The tent pad is far from the fire ring and under shade. The pad is large and flat. The campground is very clean including the bathrooms. The Blue Ridge Reservoir is a few miles away and is a great place to take a dip in some cool water. Many campers brought kayaks or inflatables. To get to the reservoir is a rocky so use caution.

I will say if the campground is full, you'll have some close neighbors.

Overall, I would come back to this campground in the future.

Clean restrooms, super quiet, beautiful area. We were there Monday through Friday. We rode our bikes, took the paddle boards to the reservoir, hiked part of the AZT, and hiked Rock Crossing trail ( beautiful trail that goes to the reservoir). Fantastic trip! Highly recommend.

Our family of 6 stayed in spot 31 at Rock Crossing. We had plenty of space! The campgrounds were all well maintained. The vault toilets remained clean for our stay. It rained heavily during our stay and there was no flooding. We kayaked during our stay and the water was a very short drive from our site. We will definitely be back! *If you have small kids, make sure you pick a spot on the inside (not on the ridge) but definitely walk them over to see how breathtaking the scenery is!

Camp host was not friendly.
The campground itself was in excellent condition.

We have been coming to this beautiful campground for over 30 years. We decided to bring our 2 young grandchildren visiting from California so they could enjoy the outdoors with us. There had been lots of monsoons, so it was wet but still gorgeous. Unfortunately,, there were 2-3 campsites who appeared to be related and decided riding their ATV's inside the campground over and over was okay. I stopped the camp host and asked if this was permitted as I had never experienced this. He said they were allowed if they went the speed limit (mph) and they abided by the one-way direction. I was shocked. There was a young boy, 9 years) on one ATV and another adult from another site. The boy was going at least 20 mph and would rev the ATV once just past our site in 24-A. I believe they were in site 19. The Camp Host site is on the complete opposite side. The camp host stated he would talk with them but nothing changed. After 2 days of this, we were forced to leaver after just 2 days of our planned trip. This was a very disappointing trip, and we will not return.
