No staff present, everything closed up, arrived to our prepaid spot via the Aramark website only to find out the water main had burst the day befor. Nobody bothers to tell us. Get hooked up and deal with no water for 2 days. Impossible to find any staff on duty. Workers roaming around will not make eye contact and run from locked door to locked door when they see you coming. The location is great, it’s quiet, and that’s all it has going for it. Basically paid boondocking.

I wouldn’t even give this horrible place 1 star. Black spiders in the beds. No hot water, moldy coffee pots. Rudest staff I have ever encountered. Don’t even start with the saloon, what a complete joke.
I will warn anyone away from this place.

Our experience with this property was disappointing from start to finish. The issues began when trying to book a room online and continued through the cancellation process, attempts to contact staff regarding late check-in procedures, and multiple calls to the after-hours number, which never returned our calls.

Unfortunately, things did not improve once we arrived. The room was not clean and appeared to be poorly maintained. The shower was dirty, in poor condition, and far from what we expected from a lodging establishment. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Overall, this was easily the worst lodging experience our family has ever had. Every step of the process—from customer service and communication to the cleanliness and condition of the room—fell well below expectations.

If there were an option to give negative stars, we would. We strongly encourage future guests to carefully consider other lodging options before booking here.

This has always been our favorite place to go however now that it is for sale, the place is going downhill fast! We stayed 4 days with no tv, no washcloths, disgusting dirty coffee pot, refrigerator did not work and if you call their “after hours” number for assistance no one answers and the voicemail box is full. Also want to mention, the saloon, restaurant and pizza joint you cannot get anything on tap, as they state their “lines froze”.

  • Accurate occupancy information is required so campground personnel can account for everyone on the property in an emergency.
  • Bright exterior lights must be turned off or significantly reduced by 10:00 p.m. We are committed to maintaining a dark-sky-friendly environment.
  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Mormon Lake Campground is a family campground. Please help us maintain a safe, peaceful environment.
  • Do not cook directly on campground picnic tables.
  • 9. Inflatables & Large Recreational Equipment
  • Inflatable hot tubs or Jacuzzis, trampolines, water slides, and similar large inflatable recreational equipment are not permitted at individual campsites.
  • Easy-Up or similar shade structures are permitted when safely contained within the designated campsite and not interfering with neighboring sites, roads, trees, utilities, or campground operations.
  • Current pricing will be posted at the wash bay or General Store.
  • Only environmentally friendly, biodegradable cleaning products approved for use in the wash bay may be used.
  • Responsible OHV riders are welcome. All OHV use must comply with Arizona law and these campground rules.
  • 13. E-Bikes & Bicycles
  • E-bikes must be operated at 10 MPH or less within the campground.
  • E-bikes and bicycles must remain on designated campground roads.
  • Do not ride through campsites, whether occupied or unoccupied.
  • Unsafe or repeated violations may result in loss of permission to operate an e-bike or bicycle within the campground.
  • 14. Off-Road Riding & Public Roads

  • Only toilet paper and appropriate human waste should be flushed.

  • Glass bottles and other breakable glass containers may not be used outside an RV.

  • Campground electrical infrastructure is not designed to support unauthorized EV charging.
  • 25. Site Use & Subletting
  • Nothing in these rules is intended to waive rights or obligations that cannot legally be waived.
  • 27. Respectful Conduct
  • Threats, violence, fighting, harassment, intimidation, bullying, hate speech, discriminatory conduct, racist comments, sexual harassment, abusive or threatening language, and deliberate interference with campground operations are prohibited.
  • Nothing in this provision authorizes discrimination prohibited by federal, state, or local law.
  • 29. Assumption of Risk & Release
  • Mormon Lake Campground requires accurate information regarding everyone staying on the property so Management can assist emergency personnel when necessary.
  • 33. General Campground Expectations

Guests

  • Welcome to Mormon Lake Campground, a family-friendly RV campground in the Mormon Lake area of Northern Arizona. We are committed to providing a safe, clean, respectful, and enjoyable environment where families and guests can relax, explore the forest, and create lasting memories.
  • Guests who enjoy off-road riding are welcome, provided that all applicable laws and campground rules are followed and the privilege is not abused. Please be respectful of our campground, our staff, our neighbors, and other guests.
  • 4. Visitors & Guests
  • Do not walk, bicycle, or ride through another guest’s campsite, whether occupied or unoccupied.
  • Guests must provide their own outdoor cooking table or approved cooking equipment.
  • Guests are responsible for keeping their campsite clean throughout their stay.
  • Guests who improperly dispose of prohibited materials may be required to retrieve and properly dispose of them at their own expense.
  • Use of the wash bay is at the guest’s own risk. Mormon Lake Campground is not responsible for damage resulting from use.
  • Guests are responsible for knowing and following all applicable Arizona OHV laws and regulations.
  • Our reputation as a responsible OHV-friendly campground is important to our guests, neighbors, community, and insurance requirements.
  • Guests must use appropriate septic-safe products in their RV.
  • Guests must comply with all applicable federal, state, county, and local firearm laws.
  • Guests will be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing damaged property.
  • Mormon Lake Campground is located in a forested environment where guests may encounter wildlife and changing natural conditions.
  • Guests acknowledge the inherent risks of outdoor recreation and camping, including severe weather, high winds, rain, snow, lightning, hail, ice, falling trees or branches, uneven ground, changing temperatures, wildlife, insects, and other natural hazards.
  • Guests are responsible for damage caused by themselves or members of their party, whether intentional or accidental, to the extent permitted by law.
  • Campsites are rented for the registered guest and authorized occupants.
  • Guests may not sublet, rent, or transfer their campsite to another party without Management’s approval.
  • Guests may not operate a business from a campsite without Management’s written permission.
  • Guests occupy the campground as temporary guests and not as residents, tenants, or permanent occupants, except where otherwise required by law.
  • Guests must vacate the premises at the conclusion of their authorized stay.
  • If a guest refuses to vacate when legally required, Management may pursue remedies available under applicable law.
  • Management may require a guest or party to leave the campground when permitted by law.
  • 28. Right to Refuse Service & Remove Guests
  • Mormon Lake Campground is privately operated and reserves the right to refuse service or remove guests when permitted by applicable law.
  • Management may require a person or party to leave for violations of these rules, unsafe behavior, disruptive conduct, harassment, property damage, illegal activity, or conduct that threatens the safety or enjoyment of other guests.
  • Guests acknowledge that camping and outdoor recreation involve inherent risks.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, guests agree to release and hold harmless Mormon Lake Campground, its owners, managers, employees, agents, volunteers, and representatives from claims arising from the guest’s use or occupancy of the campground, except to the extent liability cannot legally be waived or released.
  • Guests are responsible for their own personal property and belongings. Mormon Lake

Check-in

  • 1. Arrival & Check-In
  • By making a reservation, checking into the campground, or occupying a campsite at Mormon Lake Campground, the registered guest acknowledges that they have had an opportunity to review these Rules & Regulations and agrees to comply with them.

Parking

  • Check in at the Office/General Store to receive your parking pass and campsite assignment. A campground employee will assist you in locating and properly positioning your RV.
  • OHVs, UTVs, ATVs, and similar recreational vehicles may be parked at your site only if they remain within the designated site area and do not damage trees, shrubs, landscaping, or campground property.
  • Campground trash facilities are for normal household/campsite trash only. Break down cardboard boxes before disposal.
  • Vehicles must fit completely within the designated wash-bay area.
  • 12. UTVs, ATVs, Golf Carts & OHVs
  • Campground speed limit: 10 MPH.
  • Racing, donuts, excessive acceleration, unnecessary engine revving, dangerous or reckless driving, driving through campsites, and teaching another person to operate a motor vehicle within the campground are prohibited.
  • No unlicensed driver under age 16 may operate a motorized vehicle, ATV, UTV, golf cart, dirt bike, or similar vehicle on campground property except as permitted by applicable law and campground policy.
  • Children may not sit on another person’s lap while a motorized vehicle is being operated.
  • Operate responsibly on public roads surrounding the campground and obey all posted speed limits.
  • Please do not repeatedly drive in circles around the campground simply for recreation. The surrounding forest provides better opportunities for off-road recreation.
  • Broken glass can cause serious injury and damage vehicles and RV tires.
  • Do not carve, tag, graffiti, place stickers on, or otherwise damage trees, tables, buildings, fences, counters, landscaping, or other campground property.
  • Children may not enter another guest’s campsite without permission, ride through campsites, or operate vehicles in violation of campground rules or Arizona law.
  • 23. RV & Vehicle Damage
  • Guests are responsible for safely maneuvering RVs and vehicles.
  • 24. Electric Vehicle Charging
  • Campground does not guarantee the security of personal property, vehicles, RVs, or recreational equipment.
  • Guests are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for their RVs, vehicles, OHVs, UTVs, ATVs, golf carts, trailers, and other recreational equipment as required by law or deemed appropriate by the guest.

Deposit

  • 2. Reservations, Cancellations & Refunds
  • Holiday Weekends: No refunds or campground credit will be issued for cancellations of holiday-weekend reservations. Cancel according to the instructions provided with your reservation confirmation.
  • More than 14 days before arrival: A full refund may be issued, less a 10% non-refundable reservation fee. Guests may instead elect campground credit for the full reservation amount.
  • More than 7 days but fewer than 14 days before arrival: A 50% refund or campground credit may be issued; the remaining 50% is forfeited.
  • Fewer than 7 days before arrival: The full reservation payment is forfeited.
  • For stays longer than one month, payments are non-refundable and non-transferable if the guest leaves early for any reason.
  • Mormon Lake Campground does not provide refunds or credits due to weather, discomforts of nature, illness, vehicle problems, travel interruptions, acts of war, or other circumstances beyond the campground’s control.
  • Campground credit may only be applied toward a future campsite rental, is not redeemable for cash, and is subject to current rates, availability, and the redemption period established by Management. Credit-card refunds will be returned to the original card used for payment.
  • Visitors must check in, obtain a visitor vehicle pass, pay the applicable visitor fee, sign any required waiver, and comply with campground rules.
  • Guests who burn unauthorized wood may be required to leave without refund or credit and may be prohibited from returning.
  • Keep your campsite clean and free of debris. Do not feed wildlife.
  • Guests responsible for causing a septic blockage or requiring a line to be pumped may be charged a $200 service fee, plus any additional costs incurred by the campground.
  • The discharge of firearms on campground property is prohibited.
  • Failure to comply may result in removal without refund or credit.
  • Do not feed, chase, corner, harass, or intentionally approach wildlife.
  • Guests may not charge electric vehicles using campground electrical pedestals unless
  • Unauthorized EV charging may result in additional charges and/or removal from the property.
  • If an RV is stored on campground property, family members may use it only with prior notification to Management and in accordance with all applicable rules and fees.
  • No refund or campground credit will be provided when removal results from a violation of campground rules or inappropriate behavior, subject to applicable law.
  • Failure to comply may result in warnings, additional charges, loss of campground privileges, removal from the campground, and/or other remedies available under applicable law.

Site capacity

  • Campsites can accommodate a maximum of 6 people unless designated otherwise.

Vehicles & parking

  • Vehicles must fit within the campsite; one extra vehicle not attached to the RV is allowed.
  • Parking is not allowed on campground roads.
  • Vehicles must be driven only on designated roads.
  • Unlicensed drivers under 16 cannot operate motorized vehicles on campground property.

Fees & deposits

  • There is a visitor fee of $5 per person unless stated otherwise.

Noise

  • 5. Quiet Hours & Courtesy
  • If available, the wash bay may be used for approved vehicles and recreational equipment during posted hours.
  • Guests returning from an off-road ride after dark are asked to return as quietly as possible.

Safety & rules

  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Noise must be kept to a minimum to avoid disturbing neighbors.
  • Abusive behavior towards others is not allowed.

Safety

  • 6. Firewood & Campfires
  • This prohibition includes pallets, lumber, building materials, and other untreated wood products intended for burning.
  • Always check current fire restrictions before starting a campfire and comply with all applicable fire restrictions and orders.
  • Never leave a campfire unattended. Completely extinguish all fires before leaving your campsite
  • Propane fire rings may be used unless prohibited by current fire restrictions or the applicable fire authority.
  • Only approved campground firewood may be burned in campground fire rings.
  • Cooking meals over campground fire rings is prohibited.
  • 10. Trash & Waste Disposal
  • Trash areas may be monitored by cameras.
  • Do not flush wet wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, tampons, sanitary pads, diapers, food, trash, grease, or other materials that can damage or clog the septic system.
  • 17. Fireworks & Firearms
  • Fireworks are prohibited on campground property.
  • 19. Property Damage & Vandalism
  • Intentional damage or vandalism may be reported to law enforcement.
  • 21. Children & Family Safety
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for damage or injury caused by children in their party to the extent permitted by law.
  • Mormon Lake Campground is not responsible for damage caused by contact with trees, branches, utility equipment, bollards, boulders, fences, posts, landscaping, or other campground property.
  • 32. Emergency & Safety Requirements
  • Fire restrictions, evacuation orders, weather warnings, and other emergency directives must be followed immediately.

Fires & fuel

  • Bringing outside firewood onto the property is prohibited.
  • Only approved firewood may be used in fire rings.
  • Campfires must not be left unattended and should be fully extinguished before leaving.

Smoking

  • Do not place trash, food, cigarettes, cigarette butts, tobacco, chew pouches, gum, nuts or shells, cans, plastic, aluminum, glass, or other foreign materials in fire rings.
  • 16. Smoking, Tobacco & Litter
  • Dispose of cigarette butts and tobacco products properly.
  • Do not throw cigarette butts, chewing tobacco, tobacco pouches, or other tobacco products onto the ground or into campground fire rings.
  • A $150 cleaning fee may be charged if cigarette butts, tobacco products, or excessive trash are found at a campsite or fire ring.
  • Do not spit chewing tobacco or tobacco products onto the ground.
  • Smoking or vaping marijuana in outdoor common areas is prohibited.

Wildlife & food storage

  • Campsites must be kept clean, and wildlife should not be fed.

Pets

  • Marshmallows and hot dogs may be roasted on a stick when permitted by current fire restrictions.
  • Do not dispose of mattresses, televisions, tires, carpet, furniture, chairs, pallets, bricks, concrete blocks, metal, car seats, high chairs, appliances, refrigerant-containing items, construction materials, or other large/bulky items in campground trash facilities.
  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused by themselves, their family members, invitees, or pets.
  • Pets are welcome when responsibly managed.
  • When outside an RV, dogs and cats must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet or secured in an appropriate carrier.
  • Pets may not be left unattended outside an RV or allowed to bark continuously or disturb neighboring guests.
  • Pets are not permitted inside the General Store/Office or designated food and beverage areas except where permitted by law or Management.
  • Aggressive animals are not permitted. If a pet attacks, attempts to attack, or presents a threat to a person or animal, Management may require removal of the pet and/or guest without refund or credit, subject to applicable law.
  • Guests must immediately pick up after their pets. Failure to clean up pet waste may result in a $50 cleaning fee.
  • Guests represent that pets are current on vaccinations required by law, including rabies where applicable.
  • If a pet repeatedly disturbs other guests, Management may require alternative arrangements.
  • Secure food, trash, pet food, and other items that may attract wildlife.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, guests assume responsibility for risks associated with use and occupancy of the campground, including weather, wildlife, terrain, recreational vehicles, OHVs, ATVs, UTVs, bicycles, pets, campfires, and other outdoor activities.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mormon Lake Campground, its owners, managers, employees, agents, volunteers, and representatives from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from the guest’s actions or those of their family members, guests, invitees, pets, or vehicles, except to the extent such liability cannot legally be waived or indemnified.
  • Guests are responsible for damage or injury caused by themselves, family members, guests, invitees, pets, or recreational equipment, to the extent permitted by law.
  • Keep campsites clean, respect quiet hours, control pets, supervise children, obey speed limits, follow fire restrictions, properly dispose of trash, respect wildlife, stay on designated roads, protect trees and natural resources, respect campground property, follow applicable laws, and treat employees and other guests respectfully.
