This camp site is beautiful with good access to the oak creek and hiking trails that lead to it as well. The site is well maintained and very convenient with clean bathrooms, access to drinking water, and fire wood available to buy on site. The camp site host was also very kind and had a great sense of humor. The only downside to this particular camp site we had on the grounds was it was slightly small for our vehicle and a 6 person tent it was manageable but would be nice to have it slightly bigger it looked like other sites on the ground may have been bigger so we will look into those the next time we visit manzanita which we definitely will.

It is near the load so during days it is little bit noisy but in the night I could fully enjoy nature, quietness, and only the sound of water flowing down.

This campground is amazing. Right along the creek, lots of shade, toilets, and big spaces. Unfortunately we were evacuated due to the fire, but our camp host let us know right away. She was very kind and made sure we all got out safely. We will definitely come back again!!

One of the most beautiful campsites I’ve stayed at. I stayed in site 12 very specious a little path of about 15 ft down to the water. Bathrooms were clean close to campsite.

Had a wonderful time staying at #19. We had a 10 person tent which this site accommodated no problem. The site is elevated to where the creek is. My little guy loved to hike down and play in the creek. You could also hear the creek during the night. The road is elevated right off the campground so you will get traffic noise, which at night is minimal and then gets heavier starting about 6 - 6:30am. We visited slide rock, which is only about 5 mins north of here. There are also 4 vault toilets for all of the campsites. Everyone there was kind and respectful about noise levels. We would stay here again.

The campground is awesome! Right next to the river. The camp hosts are fabulous. We had a terrific time.

Getting There
From Phoenix, take I-17 north to Exit 298 for Highway 179. Take 179 north to Sedona. Turn right (north) onto Highway 89A in Oak Creek Canyon and travel 6 mi to the campground.

From Phoenix, take I-17 north to Exit 298 for Highway 179. Take 179 north to Sedona. Turn right (north) onto Highway 89A in Oak Creek Canyon and travel 6 mi to the campground.
From Flagstaff, take I-17 south and exit for Highway 89A toward Sedona. Travel 23 mi south on 89A (a winding mountain road) into Oak Creek Canyon. The campground is located just south of Slide Rock State Park.
Highway access
The campground is accessible via I-17, with Exit 298 for Highway 179 leading into Sedona. Highway 89A runs north from Oak Creek Canyon, providing direct access to the campground.
Policies & Rules
General
- Tents only; no oversized vehicles, trailers or RVs allowed
- Bring confirmation letter to the campground
- Only 1 vehicle allowed per site. No additional parking available.
- No hookups available
- No horses or off-road vehicles allowed; motorbikes may only be used for entering and exiting the campground
- No radios or amplified devices allowed

- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- No portable showers or toilets allowed in campground
- No cutting, chopping or splitting wood within the campground
- Campsites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Campsite cannot be unattended more than 24 hours
- The camping stay limit in Red Rock District is limited to 7 days
