What Guests Are Saying
The North Rim Campground is highly praised for its spacious and well-maintained sites, beautiful natural surroundings, and proximity to the Grand Canyon views. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and the availability of a general store with essential supplies. Although there were some issues with water access and restroom cleanliness during a recent fire evacuation, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return in the future.

This campground is very nice, and beautiful. I am so happy the it wasn't deviored by the fires that were very close.

My stay at North Rim Campground was a disappointing experience. Originally reserving site 14, listed as premium site with canyon views, upon arrival realized the site wouldn't work well for my setup. No privacy or trees, and far too large. Ok, no problem I thought. I went to the building with the sign out front reading "Campground Registration" and explained my situation to the young lady behind the desk. She said there was nothing she could do about it; I'd have to go on-line, cancel my reservation and book a new one. I asked her where she thought I could find a cell signal to do so and she basically said good luck. I finally found a signal and was able to book site 13, directly across from 14. But because it was the day of my arrival I was unable to cancel site 14 reservation on recreation.gov. OK... I'll eat the cost and book a new site. I attempted to use my Senior Lifetime Park's Pass for the discount but the system wouldn't allow me because I already had a site booked using the discount - that I couldn't cancel, because it was the day of check in. OK... first world problems. I booked site 13 which worked better for my particular setup, while 14 sat empty and unusable across the road.
Unfortunately the worst was yet to come.
After my second day out exploring Point Imperial and Cape Royal, I returned to camp to find all of my belongings gone. The maintenance kid thought someone had cached their stuff (water, tarp, stove) and hauled it off like trash in his van. He had no way of knowing the site was still reserved for another night - and that yes, I had cached my stuff there for the day rather than haul it around with me because I had one more night - that I'd paid dearly for because of the woefully inadequate recreation.gov system.
A system that doesn't provide campground employees more information so they can actually help campers is a bad system. Add no water, toilets or services due to last year's fire and sadly, you get 1 star. At best.

The scenery was amazing and the services were more than adequate at the limited level, and the limited number of people added to the overall experience

No water anywhere on the North Rim because of the fire, but otherwise it was a great visit. Nice campground, nice people, great.

This is a favorite of ours. There was no water this time because of the fire last year, but there were plenty of portable toilets and we brought in enough water. There weren't too many campers here and all of the trails were closed but it was a peaceful 5 days.

Beautiful campground with stunning views of the Grand Canyon. Not crowded, quiet. Campsites are spacious. General store is great, employees are helpful. What a wonderful stay we had!!

I went on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend and it was actually fairly empty! Definitely still recovering from the fires and now floods... the lack of running water isn't ideal, but the location is hard to beat! The terrain was nice for camping too, since I'm used to super tough rocks at places like Saguaro. I also appreciate that this campground doesn't do the minimum-night requirements for bookings like DeMotte does.

Its been a year since the fire, and still no water. Because of the flood both Angel bright trail and Kaibab trail were closed. So, I guess Im going to plan another trip to North rim.
