What Guests Are Saying
The North Rim Campground is highly praised for its spacious and well-maintained sites, beautiful natural surroundings, and proximity to the Grand Canyon views. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and the availability of a general store with essential supplies. Although there were some issues with water access and restroom cleanliness during a recent fire evacuation, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return in the future.

Been visiting the North Rim for 40 years. We knew this trip would be very different and in some cases a sad way. We were very impressed by how quickly the clean-up progressed. The general store was a big plus.
The damage to the lodge area was very sad. We have many good memories of cabin stays and dinners in the lodge. We had to resort to our past photos to determine how much was lost.
We thought it might be interesting to take a guided tour or ranger talk discussing the progression of the fire.
Bottom line is we still love Grand Canyon North Rim.

The drive from Jacob Lake is spectacular. And the north rim setting is wonderful. However, because of last year's Dragon Bravo fire, the only amenities are unclean porta potties, and the hiking from the campground is greatly limited. Because of this, the campground fee should be greatly reduced. We did enjoy the one-night experience, however.

Site is great! Quiet, plenty of space between sites and wonderful views. Parking area is paved with slight grade, we were able to find a close to level spot for our van. Yes, there are areas still closed. But the campground is virtually untouched from the fire. Be prepared for extremely limited services this season, including no running water. Very few people here, we enjoyed sunrise at an overlook with no one else in the overlook. Definitely less developed than the South Rim, that was the plus for us! We enjoyed the quiet and hiking most trails by myself!

As a tent camper I don't appreciate it when those with trailers use generators to charge up their batteries. Also, excessive use of lights at night makes it feel like I'm back in the city! And, none of them get up with the sun - lol. That it still costs the same when there is no water and limited service seems wrong. The porta-potties are hit and miss, but what else can you do? The store hours are too short. Closing at 4 p.m. when sunset is at/about 7:15 p.m. means anyone doing a hike late in the day will miss out on getting more ice (like I did; instead on one day I got ice at the North Rim Country Store across the highway from the Kaibab Lodge. Their hours were much better!! Of course, the campground was probably only about 15% full, so relatively laid back. Also, it is impossible to tell from the on-line reservation system what sites are best for tents. Some sites have tent spaces, but not mine. Yet, it was identified as a tent space.

As good of an experience as it could've been given the circumstances! Campground store was well stocked, the porta potties were as good as a porta pottie could be, camp spot was clean and easy to set up on
