What Guests Are Saying
The North Rim Campground is highly praised for its spacious and well-maintained sites, beautiful natural surroundings, and proximity to the Grand Canyon views. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and the availability of a general store with essential supplies. Although there were some issues with water access and restroom cleanliness during a recent fire evacuation, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return in the future.

I guess I wasn't aware of how much the fires had devastated the area. Porta-potties were available without running water. Many of the hiking trails were closed, so views were minimal at best. It was overall a disappointing experience. The main visitor area on the north rim was fenced off, so views were all but nonexistent. I was just disappointed. Our spot was mostly flat for sleeping in our minivan at least. I never did see a campground host.

No toilet paper in any of the porta potty’s at the campground.

The North Rim campground offers campsites with expansive canyon views, towering ponderosa pines, peaceful surroundings, birdsong, and Kaibab squirrels. Who could ask for more?
Camp store has basic items and gifts. Bring your own drinking water, water for washing, and supplies.

Campground was great, even though no campfires allowed due to recent wildfires. Only disappointment was the fact that there was no running water and that there were no options for a non camping meal. The Lodge has not been reconstructed and there are no other amenities nearby. You will have to rough it, but I guess that is part of the allure of the North Rim vs the South Rim. If you are camping overnight make sure to bring enough food for lunch, dinner and breakfast.

There was a simple issue with the campsites. However, you have removed the ability of the local people to deal with reservation issues. Just let them fix problems. Going through the web is a nightmare. Give your people back the authority to resolve issues quickly and easily.

Great campground. Will be even better when the showers are available again. Only complaint was an inconsiderate “neighbor” that left exterior Rzv lights on all night.

Beautiful area. Not many resources but it keeps the crowds down. Just plan accordingly and it will be fine.

As sad as it was to see all the fire damage, we (my adult daughter and I) had an amazing overnight experience camping in the park. We knew that resources were going to be limited and planned accordingly. The porta potties were as clean as they could be. We were fortunate to get a tent site almost on the rim. Staff that we did interact with were kind, friendly and answered all of our questions to the best of their ability. It was weird though because the area was very empty. My daughter and I had Cape Royal all to ourselves in the evening for a while. I have the utmost respect for those that work hard to keep our parks safe, our parks clean and our parks open for everyone. Thank you all!
