Lots of beautiful pine trees and clean, well maintained grounds. We stayed on the bear loop and it seemed to be primarily families. Our camp site was number 26 and on the reservation map it appears to be on the outer loop, but it is actually in the very center of the grounds and has a little ravine/ditch on the edge that was very popular with other kiddos (and a little noisy!). It appears that the reservation map is not quite accurate. Overall, a great stay!

Clean, peaceful, and a good distance between camping spots.
The lack of electricity is a major drawback for me...I would have enjoyed the weekend SO MUCH MORE had their been electric. The coin operated showers are expensive...so we had to use precious battery power to shower in our coach. Other than that the campground is nice.

The grounds were clean of trash, the bathrooms were clean and the staff were chill. We were a little close to some other campers and we couldn't hear them at all. A lot of great hiking trails near here, despite this campground being in Payson. This isn't a place you'll be roughing it. There's a Walmart about 6 minutes down the road from the campgrounds. I'd imagine that this place would be great for kids because it's not deep in the backcountry but it feels like you are really camping. Great place, I would stay here again in a heart beat.

located just outside of Payson, it is the perfect weekend get away location. Lots of pine trees and close enough to town to pick up anything you forgot to bring or to just get a break from cooking and eat out.
