We have camped here several times, but unfortunately, this time we had a different experience. We checked in on a Friday and checked out on a Monday. Upon arrival, I used the Men’s bathroom and it was disgustingly dirty. The bathroom was not cleaned the entire time we were there. The woman’s bathroom was about out of toilet paper and who knows when they would be around to clean and restock. In addition, one camping group was playing music loud enough for the entire campground to hear, and the music went on after quite hours started. People also ran their generators after quite hours, and all through the night. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence as this was not the norm.

We had site 27 and it was not a bad site, a pull through, but it was not very level,

As usual, the grounds and restrooms were spotless. Great job by the staff.

There are just a few things to realize when camping here. A lot of the sites are on slopes. It's just a matter of the terrain at the campground. I was on site 15 and it is fairly level, but a little tight for backing a trailer into. I'd definitely pay attention to the max trailer length. The sites are pretty well spaced and because it has a lot of trees, you don't feel like you're on top of your neighbors. The camp host was really friendly and came around and checked on things regularly. You can hike to Lynx Lake from the campground, but it's fairly steep terrain so it is a lot of up and down.

Our stay at Hilltop Campground was delightful, and Site 36 was perfect! Super close to the trailhead leading to the lake as well as the cross park multi-use trail. I loved that there are no specified generator hours other than quiet. So often we're limited, especially in the morning not being early risers. A beautiful repose under the high ponderosa pine!

This is a beautiful, quiet, and picturesque campground that is very well kept. Everything was clean, and there’s a lot of space between each spot, which really made the spot feel more private.
There’s very little light, so you can really see the stars. It’s just a short walk to a small lake, which has a path around it. There is ample hiking as well.
I strongly recommend this campground!

Our favorite Arizona campsite because it feels small and intimate, the hosts are great, and the connector trails are so fun and accessible. We can easily get to the lake, the cafe, and other campgrounds!
