Me and my family LOVED IT!!!! We wished we could have stayed longer, but we had no idea we would be camping at hiltop until the day of. So unfortunately, we were only able to book for one night, but it was still absolutely amazing. The host was AMAZING!!!!! The campsite that we had was BEAUTIFUL! It was almost set up like an apartment lol
I Recommend this campsite! YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE AS ME AND MY FAMILY DID. We plan to go back I'm a few weeks/months. And the price is so cheap.

Site 20 in Hilltop Campground is great for tent camping but not so good for RVs or travel trailers. That's because the pad is basically just a shoulder of the road that travels through the campground. Tent campers will be treated to a nice flat, well-groomed area to pitch a tent (or two) adjacent to a huge concrete picnic table and fire ring.

The camp ground was beautiful except for the problem of having no water available in the entire camp ground nor down by the lake. The lake is beautiful but the parking on weekends is a nightmare. They definitely need to add more parking.

This is my favorite campground, I love the sites and the proximity to Lynx Lake. Tip: Pick up firewood on your way in. Host was "off duty" at 4:30 on Sunday afternoon.

Not having access to water was an inconvenience (of which we were notified in advance), but this is still one of our favorite campgrounds. The sites are well spaced, well maintained and nicely laid out and the toilets are always clean. It is amazing to find such a great campground so close to downtown Prescott with easy access to all of the areas' wonderful lakes. The resident owls and coyotes have serenaded us on the several occasions we have stayed at Hilltop.

Much better than Lynx campground. Spaces are further apart and more quiet.

This campground was clean, well maintained and had good shady spots from the forest trees. However, there was NO WATER ANYWHERE! None of the water pump stations worked. There was one 55 gallon drum of water outside the outhouse-restrooms, however, it was sealed and you would need your own bung wrench and hand pump to access the water in the drum. (I think the drum of water was there for staff only to clean the outhouses.) I brought drinking water with me, but I had planned to use campground water for doing dishes, brushing teeth, etc. and was disappointed when I had to leave camp, drive to town and purchase more bottled water for camp clean-up and hygiene.
One other thing I didn't like about the campground is that there were steel posts embedded in the ground that prevented me from backing up my vehicle to the concrete picnic table. This was very inconvenient for car camping as I didn't pitch a tent and was using my car as part of my "camping rig" to sleep in and keep gear in that I didn't want to get wet. So, I ended up setting up my tarp and a portable camp table on the asphalt driveway rather than using the designated camping area as it was too far away my vehicle. Why do they prevent people from backing up their vehicle into the camping space??? Is it because they don't want a vehicle near the fire pit??? Even if I had pitched a tent, it still would of been inconvenient and difficult for me to carry all my gear that far away from my vehicle to a "vehicle-free" camping area. I would of needed a wagon or cart to assist me, and even then, I don't know if the gap between the steel posts was wide enough for a wagon, nor was there room in my car to pack a wagon for towing gear! To me, this is just government making it difficult for people to camp! It requires a person to be young, strong and fit, and is not very ideal for seniors! Nor is it very ideal for car camping or RV camping!
