Campsite was clean and easy to set up. However bathrooms were closed in the loop and no directions in where to find functioning ones. Had to drive to the nearest one. Based on past reviews it seems like they’ve been this way for awhile and no indication when they’ll be back. Would have been useful to know before I made the reservation.

Site No. 20 D

Fair price. Very clean bathrooms with no flies or smell. Plenty of room to park a trailer or 2nd vehicle in this particular site. The as of late April '25, the lake was a bit of a let down. A full lake would have made my stay worthy of 5 stars. I'll be back next year once again for the Whiskey Off Road race!

Just returned from Lynx Lake Campground, A loop. As always, beautiful, well laid out campground. However, a few multi year problems continue.
1. The two flush toilets closed that service A, B, E, F loops. No sign of any effort to open. Door signs says porta potties on the way soon. Not yet. Multi-year problem. Any effort to fix in the 5 months campground closure before the April 1 campground opening? Only alternative for A, B, E, F loops is to hike to the vault toilets in other loops, perhaps in the middle of the night. Note, there was no message in the campground website stating these closures - only a message about the low lake level. An advance warning before arriving would have been useful to allow for cancellations.
2. All vehicles entering the campground encounter a three-way intersection up the entrance road. First sign say B loop to the left, A loop to the right. No designation for the middle loop. When at the intersection, drivers will face a sign head on with a one way arrow (no loop designation) to head to the right. The result is the majority of new drivers take this route that leads only to the A loop. In the process of a day, this consists of dozens of wayward vehicles looping through A loop in an effort to find their campsite in another loop. Proper signs, including for the middle road at the 3 way intersection, would help. Or alternatively, paint the directions on the road.

Beautiful area with spacious campsites. Good trails. Unfortunately the lake was closed due a faulty valve at the dam. Hopefully fixed soon.

This campground is beautiful. My site (18) was fairly private. Ponderosa Pines all along the back of the site gives you a feeling of being alone in the woods. I went at opening weekend so of course it was in pristine condition. Bathroom was clean. (I can't say what it would be like in the summer when the campground gets busy) Hiking trails very convenient in this loop (D) I saw the hosts one time and that was when they put my reserved sign up. They were friendly and non-intrusive.
Sites 16 and 17 are very close together. These would be great for two families that want to spend time together but remain in their own sites. You can't really see 18 from from 16 and 17 but I imagine it could get pretty loud (if you're looking for privacy but don't mind a little noise then 18 is it.
T-Mobile service sketchy at best. I do carry a Garmin InReach so I am able to check in with my family periodically.
I will definitely come back when the weather is nicer.

We arrived after dark and had no trouble finding it. It was a clean site. While we were packing up, it began getting warmer as the sun rose higher in the sky. At that timd our 5 year-old learned the hard way that there was a wasp nest behind the campsite (we think it was in the retaining wall). She was stung 6 times and I was stung twice (we both swelled a little and get really itchy when stung, and a spot ony head throbbed for around 6 more hours). After we got the threat taken care of, we quickly packed up the rest of camp, then went to find the property manager/grounds keeper. We rang the doorbell and knocked on the door a couple of times and got no answer, so we left a handwritten note for them to find (with a way to contact us if they had questions). We don't know of they got.it taken care of, so please be warned that if you visit in the fall (we went in early October), you could find wasps that don't like you getting too close.
