Even if you have a reservations it does not guarantee your camp site..... This was our 4th of 5 scheduled week end stay at Cholla Campground. On this trip our camp space we reserved was being occupied by another camper. The Camp host had made a mistake by not listed our reservation date correctly on the site. The host did allowed us to pick any available Camp site. The Camp site we had selected did not a the views like the other site, but it worked....

We had a wonderful time. Everything was very well maintained. Jack and Jane, the camp hosts, were lovely. We will be back.

I have never been a fan of campgrounds. We prefer to "Boondock" camp, but the weather did not cooperate this year and the desert was too wet and muddy to attempt. We have a very gun shy yellow lab that is terrified of fireworks. So, every July 4th and New Years Eve we load him up and leave town. With that being said, we reserved a space at Roosevelt lake Cholla campground this NYE. I came away very impressed with the area. The grounds were clean and well maintained. A trash dumpster was only a few yards away and clean water faucet too. It was very peaceful and the grounds have a 10 PM noise rule. We were able to dump our tanks on the way home and had an enjoyable stay. We plan to return this spring for some camping and fishing, but being native Arizonans, we know the summer will be too hot to camp.

Excellent stay, beautiful area, definitely see the cliff dwellings. Our only complaint is that we had neighbors who ran their generator ALL DAY LONG (7 am to 9 pm). We understand the need to charge batteries, especially in winter, but it is unfortunate to be in a beautiful, peaceful spot in nature and have to listen to engines. Even inside our RV it was audible. I wish the Forest Service would institute hours of use for generators. At Saguaro National Park they have generator hours, 8to 10 am, and 4 to 6 pm. Perfect! Other than that we loved it.

Bathrooms lacked lights, soap, hand dryers. Sign out front said it was modern solar powered with motion sensor lights and hands free soap dispensers neither of which were present.
