Great campsites, phenomenal views! Loved hiking down to the lake, good workout. Trail to boat ramp also fun and picturesque. Campground is easy to get to, campground well planned and campsites easy to back into with a trailer. Very very clean! Already booked another trip.

The campsite we selected was not fit for two vehicles or two tents. When we moved to a first come first serve site we were told we needed to buy a day pass and our reservation payment would not suffice. I had to buy $50 worth of parking tickets for a $25 site and received no help or leniency. I should get a refund.

This is our winter go-to spot. The only negative, after going there several years, is there is always one night, while we are there, with 40 to 50 mph wind gusts so I always think: why didn't I check the weather better every day before night comes and tries to destroy my clam. Fasten yourself down real good if you are in a tent or tent trailer. Also, Keep your dogs on a leash, we saw fresh Mountain Lion tracks every morning down at the lake where we fish. We have known that they are there since we have been going there and they were spotted at Windy Hill but they leave people alone. They hunt coyotes, javelinas and smaller game.

When we arrived, we found our campsite not to our liking because we didn't want to park our RV roadside, we wanted to back it into the campsite. We called the information number posted on the sign at the entrance and were directed to the Camp Host. In the meantime, we were told we could take a campsite that was not already reserved. We were asked to make sure to let the camp host know. He changed campsites, and later met with the very friendly camp host and informed them of our move. The campsite was clean, but most importantly, the bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever experienced in a campsite. I still can't figure out how they were able to make an open pit toilet not have any odor whatsoever. I was very impressed. We made our visit in the winter and the weather is similar to Phoenix. Be careful with summer camping at this location!

This was a beautiful campground, with mountains reflected in the glass-flat lake and tall saguaros… loved it! We enjoyed the proximity to the cliff dwellings at Tonto National Monument. Our camp host, Jack, was friendly and helpful and directed us to a great hike we would otherwise have missed. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and well maintained. There weren’t a lot of other campers there in mid January, but everyone we ran into was neighborly. Great experience!
