-Great cell coverage most of the day (compared to Windy Hill which is hit and miss except next to water). Cell towers, over by Four Peaks, powers down after 7pm. We had to use cell booster after then.
-Nice fishing spot on the north shore of the campground.
-Nice walking trails to boat dock (south) and fishing shore (north) with benches at scenic spots.
-There are children playgrounds everywhere which seem to be unique to this campground.
Site Hosts were very friendly.
-We make Roosevelt lake our winter camping spot. It is not crowded (unless you pick a spot next to the water) during the winter which is great. Odd number spaces can be reserved during this time. Last part of January and the first part of February may see some rare snow.

Dissapointed the showers are closed due to Covid, and bathrooms are not being maintained. Price of a campsite is a bit steep to begin with, and unjustifiable without these amenities. Too many people know how to game the system to avoid paying for a site. They know which days the park rangers are off, and the hosts don't regularly chech site tags. The kiosk is frequently off line or out of service, but some know to use that as an excuse just to avoid payment. The park should back up the kiosk with the envelope system used elsewhere since the manned entry station is closed. Too much sadly needed funding is being lost due to these problems. The reservation system is a hinderence to long term camping, allowed during winter months, as many of the better sites are reservable, limiting your stay or being forced to move off that site on short notice because someone has reserved that site for only one or two nights. The reservation system should be discontinued for the winter months, in my opinion. Overall a nice enough facility in spite of some issues that may not be permanent.

This is a wonderful, historical area to visit with beautiful scenery. We continue to be awe-stuck by the cliff dwellings at Tonto National Monument. This is "boon-docking," so if coming in the winter season be sure you bring heat source or have ample power sources as the nights get cold. So much was invested in these campgrounds, we wonder why the government didn't go further by providing at least electrical hookups. If they had, these campgrounds would get a lot more use.

Second time we came to this place. Very misty at night gets cold but with a few extra blankets it is totally worth it.
