Camped in spot 203. It is the last spot in the campground closest to the lake right by the boat ramp. We loved the views our kids had a great time running up and down to the lake.
We brought our side-by-side and there were lots of roads to explore beautiful Arizona.
Spring Creek Store is located very close by and had anything we could need including an ice cream counter.
We never went into any of the bathrooms at the campground nor did we talk to the host. We saw him drive-by a couple times.
This campground would be great for two groups camping together because you could pull in opposite directions and then open up your RV towards each other.
We will definitely camp there again.

small spaces, tightly packed campground in the middle of a huge area of open wilderness. doesn’t really make sense to me

The campground itself was quite nice, the sites pretty spacious, level, and clean. The main camp is loop right next to a boat ramp. We stayed at the beginning of March and in mid week the campground was quite empty. This changed around the weekend, when a lot of boaters showed up to camp. Note that due to lack of utilities, there's a lot of generator noise with a couple running all night. Not all the generators were campground friendly, some were contractor type which are not designed to be quiet. We also found a lot of the weekenders were more "gregarious" so what starts as a quiet campground mid week, become more "social" on the weekends. If you are coming to this somewhat remote campground for peace and quiet, do so off season, and away from the weekends. I can only imagine what it's like at peak season. The boat ramp can be busy with people coming and going even fairly late, which makes for more traffic noise than expected from such a remote location. This is not a complaint or judgement of my fellow campers who came to have fun and enjoy the company of others, just something to be aware of. We came here to explore the nearby native ruins and for me to do some stargazing away from city lights. Once everyone went to be and turned off their lights, the park was quite dark. The wonderful Tonto National Monument cliff dwellings are a short drive away and are a must see.

We understand that during the pandemic cleaning is curtailed here but the restrooms were filthy. Someone dumped something gross in the sink and it was just left there for days. Dogs visiting the campsites were not picked up after.
It is an interesting area. I think we were hoping for a little more distance or privacy from neighbors. It is our first visit to the area.
