Great location, friendly staff. Caught a few trout.
The D sites are pretty close to each other. Almost feels like you’re sharing a spot with strangers. Also, people leave their cars/trucks running at the sites for hours on end?
If you go, try to get an F location for a little more room.

Overall good experience. Little worried about my kids getting poison ivy going down to the creek to play.

We camped on Site A16 for one night. It was one of only 2 sites remaining when I made reservations. On the positive side, it was level for tenting, close to the bathrooms which were well maintained and clean. Cave springs Campground is in close proximity to the West Fork of Oak Creek Trailhead.
On the negative side the site had no grass on which to pitch our tent, just bear soil, which was a dust bowl when we were there. The dust stuck to the bottom and tracked into the tent. My suggestion is to upgrade campsites with a 12 by 12 gravel pad with wood ties to hold the gravel in place. This would be a relatively inexpensive and easy fix. It would be in line with other USFS campgrounds such as Black Canyon (Taos, NM) and Ponderosa (Payson AZ).

We are long time fans of Cave Springs. We had a great spot we have waited years to nab. The staff is always very kind, and we appreciate the shop on property that sells ice and firewood and always cool souvenirs. The campground is across the creek from an 89A passing zone, so expect a lot of loud engine noises from motorcycles, trucks and hot rods attempting to pass other cars.

Been camping in Oak Creek for 30+ years . Couple of the hosts were not friendly and need training . The new fishing rules ruin it for the kids that want to go fishing.

Water spigot by D13 is broke. No problem. What was a disappointment is that none of the sites are listed as double sites when I fact many of the sites are double sites. We had a double site and literally camped right next some someone’s vehicle.

The friendliest reception, best advice, and best of every other people interaction we have received in any park yet. The site is clean, facilities are hygenic and everything well organised. They even brought our firewood and ice to our plot! Lovely stream that our dogs and 8 and 10 years old grand daughters enjoyed thoroughly.
