This was our second fall trip to Cave Springs. Though the weather was colder than we expected, and our dog was sprayed by a skunk, and we had to take out own toilet paper to the restroom since some were out we would visit again.

Great hosts, great check in, lovely location. WAY too much road noise and we'd love to see Wifi. But overall, an excellent experience.

Absolute WORST camping experience EVER! WE WILL NEVER RETURN. And I will NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE.
If you like being HARRASSED by the camp managers, then you would like this place. Otherwise, STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!! Dennis, aka Howard Baskin, was the upmost RUDEST camp manager i have ever encountered. Im upset for not getting the other a******'s name who chased us out of the park at high speeds with his State employee vehicle, intimidating my family as we were leaving after only being there 2 hours.
No fires allowed but they dont mention that on the websites. Drove 5 HOURS to be told there was a state wide burn ban but noone could tell me since when that had be enforced.
Absolutely horrible! I wish i could get a credit for my money or something since we left before even staying a whole night. But, I will just take the loss and learn from experience that Arizona's campsites, so far, are the absolute worst between Nevada, California, and Utah.

It was hard not having a place to wash dishes. And unfortunate that we couldn’t have campfires but overall the campsites were great and I loved the area! Great trees for hammocking!

The campsite is beautiful, the facilities are clean, and the hosts are very nice. Our family had a wonderful time and we will be coming back soon!

Worst camping experience of my life. The campsites are so close together you can hear your neighbor’s conversation. We even heard our neighbor snoring all night long. Trash cans overflowing, bathrooms were so dirty and smelled awful. The campground is right next to Oak Creek but you can’t even enjoy the Creek because there are so many people everywhere (when the campground is full). It was very loud and the 10pm curfew was not enforced. The only positive for this place was the staff at the office. They were really great people, but I believe understaffed due to COVID cutbacks.

From Phoenix, take I-17 to Highway 179 north toward Sedona. Turn north on Highway 89A and continue for 11 miles into Oak Creek Canyon.
From Flagstaff, take I-17 to Highway 89A south. Follow 89A for 18 miles to Oak Creek Canyon.
Elevation: 1649 feet
12 mi drive to downtown Sedona (about 25 min)

- Oak Creek is very crowded, especially on weekends; it is best to come on a weekday and arrive early
- No radios or amplified devices allowed
- No hookups
- No horses allowed in the campground
- Motorbikes may only be used for entering or leaving campsite
- Check out the forest's campground description for specific information to Fish Your National Forest
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- No portable showers or toilets allowed in campground
- Showers are token operated only, they do not accept quarters.
- Campsites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Campsite cannot be unattended more than 24 hours
- Swimming and fishing access
- The camping stay limit in Red Rock District is limited to 7 days
