Lovely campground, non flush toilets were very clean and the potable water was very accessible. Our campsite was probably the nearest to the highway, but we slept fine (maybe bring earplugs for the lighter sleepers). Nice access to the creek and good fishing.
However, we believe my boyfriend brushed up against some poison oak or ivy while hiking. No fault of the campsite, but make sure to lookout for it!

Can't ever go wrong in Oak Creek Canyon. Stayed for 5 nights. Clean bathrooms. Staff on carts going around constantly to make sure upkeep is tip top. Easy access to and from Sedona. Beautiful views. Quiet. Only gripe was that the showers were closed. Had to drive to Flagstaff to a roadside shower.

The space between the sites was good. The campsite was fairly level. The road in and out was fairly smooth. The hosts were amiable. My only complaint was the water hydrants. Obviously, they are deliberately designed to NOT attach a hose to them. We have an RV with a 32 gallon fresh water tank. We would love to fill it up with something other than by lugging a six gallon container back and forth.

First, I'll say the staff was absolutely lovely, but the check-in process overall was a bit confusing and time consuming. I am used to other NPS campsites where if I've made a reservation, my tag is already at my campsite and I just drive right up without having to worry about checking-in at a registration desk by a certain time. The campground seemed pretty well maintained, although unfortunately the showers were closed due to COVID, which was a bummer. It's a large campground, so it was very busy and noisy. Overall, this wouldn't be my first choice in the Sedona/Oak Creek area just based on my personal preferences of liking smaller, more isolated campgrounds, but it's still nice!

Everyone was super friendly! From the workers at the campground to the wonderful People working at the information area and just your everyday workers in the different shops or restaurants. I would hope to,see better signage though. Going 35 MPH, on the curvy roads, you don’t know your stop until your there. Could cause a accident either direction!

From Phoenix, take I-17 to Highway 179 north toward Sedona. Turn north on Highway 89A and continue for 11 miles into Oak Creek Canyon.
From Flagstaff, take I-17 to Highway 89A south. Follow 89A for 18 miles to Oak Creek Canyon.
Elevation: 1649 feet
12 mi drive to downtown Sedona (about 25 min)

General
- Oak Creek is very crowded, especially on weekends; it is best to come on a weekday and arrive early
- No radios or amplified devices allowed
- No hookups
- No horses allowed in the campground
- Motorbikes may only be used for entering or leaving campsite
- Check out the forest's campground description for specific information to Fish Your National Forest
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- No portable showers or toilets allowed in campground
- Showers are token operated only, they do not accept quarters.
- Campsites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Campsite cannot be unattended more than 24 hours
- Swimming and fishing access
- The camping stay limit in Red Rock District is limited to 7 days
