Very nice campground, but the toilet area stinks. The actual toilets were clean and OK inside, but we were in site #7 and there was a horrible stench. Fortunately our friends had a nice site at the end of the park so were relocated there.

Stayed at site #13 for 3 nights in late May. Excellent site, probably the nearest to Oak Creek, that provides a great view. We have a large 10-person tent and made it work, although it took a while to find soil to drive the stakes. Some of the site is over a boulder with little soil on top. Again, we made it work, but this site is best for a small tent. Campground was extremely clean. There were two hosts present when we were there and both were very friendly while maintaining the property.

The location was excellent for a visit to Sedona. Rustic camping at its best. The site we had was #6 which was a bit difficult to pull into because of the position of the large rocks at the entrance to the site. It was close to the restrooms (pit toilets) which was nice except for the occasional smell. The groundskeeper was very attentive to making sure all sites were clean and ready for the next campers. There was a very nice clean creek running through the camp. We would camp here again!

Best swimming and fishing here. We've been going for years. Butterfies in the spring and blackberries in the summer. Really nice place to relax.

Pros: Friendly camp hostess, clean site, lots of large trees and shade, trails to explore to the creek and meadows, as well as to a strenuous hiking trail. My campsite 19 had plenty of space and a sweet level area to lay my bed. NO Rvs! meant no generators the night I was there- such a blessing to be away from generators. (Other national forest campgrounds in this area allow generators from 6am-9pm. which are my waking hours. Wish they followed the state park practices of more limited generator hours. Or how about no generator areas for those of us who still come to nature to enjoy the peace and quiet. :) Con: The only con was how close the road is and thus the sound of steady traffic early and late in the evening. You can get away from the noise at the creek. :)
